With a reputation for quality, expertise, and comprehensive service, we support industries requiring reliable lifting and handling equipment, inspections, repairs, and bespoke fabrications. Role Reporting directly to the Operations Director. The Northern Operations Manager is responsible for leading and improving the operational, financial and compliance performance of the Northern Region, comprising the Glasgow, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Preston, Manchester and Liverpool branches. The role supports the Operations Director in ensuring the safe, efficient and profitable operation of each branch whilst delivering excellent customer service standards and maintaining compliance with company procedures. Responsibilities. · Supporting the Operations Director to ensure the efficient operation of all Northern Region branches. · Providing daily operational oversight of the Glasgow, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Preston, Manchester and Liverpool branches to ensure service standards are maintained. · Supporting Branch Managers in achieving company objectives, operational targets and financial performance requirements. · Monitoring branch Profit & Loss performance and working with Branch Managers to improve profitability, control costs and maximise operational efficiencies. · Reviewing branch financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks, trends and opportunities. · Driving accountability for branch KPI performance and implementing improvement plans where required. · Ensuring weekly branch reviews and reporting activities are completed to maximise revenue generation and operational effectiveness. · Ensuring branches are adequately staffed and assisting Branch Managers with recruitment, development and succession planning when required. · Providing operational support and branch cover during periods of absence or exceptional business requirements. · Identifying and reporting on insufficient levels of hire fleet equipment, ensuring maximum utilisation and movement of fleet between branches. · Liaising with the Commercial Department regarding fleet requirements and hire equipment purchases. · Conducting regular branch audits and providing guidance, support and training relating to company procedures and Insphire. · Identifying operational issues or non-compliance within branches and implementing corrective actions. · Ensuring transport planning processes are utilised effectively to maximise operational efficiency and customer service. · Liaising with the Technical Manager regarding equipment requirements, technical procedures and safe-use documentation. · Supporting the continuous improvement of operational procedures, company systems and Insphire processes. · Ensuring all branches maintain high standards of housekeeping, presentation and professionalism. · Monitoring adherence to company procedures, policies and communication standards. · Supporting health, safety and compliance initiatives across all Northern Region branches.
