NJ Senior Operations Manager
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, supporting site performance, leading operational teams, and ensuring safe, accurate, efficient, and timely fulfillment of client orders. This position provides leadership and direction to Operations Managers, Assistant Operations Managers, Team Leads, and assigned warehouse teams to support productivity, quality, safety, labor planning, client expectations, and operational execution. The Senior Operations Manager partners with Operations leadership, Client Services, Inventory Management, Quality Control, Order Processing, Production, Receiving, Returns, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, IT, and other cross-functional teams to support business needs, maintain compliance with company standards, and drive continuous improvement across assigned departments or site operations. Oversee daily warehouse operations across assigned departments, shifts, or site functions. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Operations Managers, Assistant Operations Managers, Team Leads, and assigned warehouse teams. Monitor operational performance, productivity, quality, safety, attendance, labor utilization, service levels, and order fulfillment execution. Partner with site leadership to plan labor, allocate resources, prioritize work, and adjust staffing based on business needs. Ensure operational teams are meeting client requirements, production goals, shipping deadlines, inventory expectations, and service-level commitments. Support execution across assigned operational functions, including Production, Pick/Pack, Order Selection, Order Processing, Quality Control, Receiving, Replenishment, Putaway, Inventory Management, Retail, Returns, Special Projects, Value-Added Services, or other site functions as applicable. Review operational metrics, reports, dashboards, order volume, labor data, quality trends, and productivity results to identify risks and improvement opportunities. Partner with Client Services and internal teams to support client priorities, escalations, account needs, special projects, and operational changes. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, SOPs, quality standards, client requirements, and applicable workplace expectations. Support training, development, accountability, and performance management for assigned leaders and teams. Conduct regular floor walks, operational check-ins, leadership meetings, shift meetings, and follow-up discussions to support execution and communication. Identify process gaps, workflow issues, equipment needs, staffing concerns, safety risks, quality concerns, and operational delays. Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, attendance, performance, staffing, investigations, corrective actions, and associate engagement as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, accuracy, safety, labor efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction. Communicate operational updates, risks, metrics, staffing needs, client concerns, and business priorities to leadership in a timely manner. Support budget awareness, labor planning, overtime control, expense management, and operational cost improvement. Ensure assigned teams maintain accurate records, reports, logs, documentation, and system updates as required. Participate in client meetings, business reviews, operational reviews, audits, site visits, and leadership meetings as assigned. Support additional departments, shifts, projects, or site priorities as needed based on business needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Mandatory: Previous experience in warehouse operations, fulfillment, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, 3PL, or related operational leadership. Previous experience leading supervisors, managers, team leads, or large operational teams. Strong leadership skills and ability to coach, develop, hold accountable, and support operational leaders and teams Strong understanding of warehouse operations, labor planning, productivity, quality, safety, order fulfillment, and client service expectations. Ability to manage multiple priorities, departments, shifts, deadlines, client needs, and operational demands. Ability to review and interpret operational metrics, productivity reports, labor data, quality results, and business trends. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, conflict-resolution, and follow-up skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Client Services, Inventory, Quality, Order Processing, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, IT, and other departments. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and related systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling employee, client, financial, operational, or business-related information. Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, travel, or schedule changes when required by business needs. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, operations management, or a related field. Previous experience in 3PL, fulfillment, e-commerce, retail fulfillment, distribution, or high-volume warehouse operations. Experience using warehouse management systems, labor management systems, reporting tools, dashboards, or related operational technology. Experience leading continuous improvement, process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, labor planning, productivity improvement, or quality initiatives.
