Over more than a decade, the business has grown through reputation, referrals, and consistently strong service. As we invest in the next stage of growth, we’re looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager to help win new customers and expand our presence across the Dublin market. The Role This is a full-cycle B2B sales role with real ownership. You’ll work from our Dublin office alongside our commercial team, taking responsibility for both inbound and outbound opportunities. Some leads will come through marketing and our existing network. You’ll also be expected to build your own pipeline and create new opportunities directly. From first conversation to signed business, you’ll lead the sales process and take ownership of moving opportunities forward. The focus is simple: win the right customers at the right margin. What You’ll Do Run discovery calls and meetings with prospective customers Qualify opportunities and identify customer needs, priorities, and buying processes Build proposals that align with customer requirements and commercial goals Arrange samples, tastings, and customer trials where relevant Conduct site visits and in-person meetings across Dublin Manage multiple stakeholders, from office managers to procurement teams and senior decision-makers Negotiate confidently while protecting margin Ask for the business and close new customer contracts Oversee initial onboarding and ensure a smooth handover to the Account Management team Maintain an accurate pipeline in HubSpot, with clear next steps and realistic forecasts Balance speed and effort appropriately across smaller, faster-moving deals and more complex opportunities What You’ll Be Selling Our customers range from smaller offices ordering weekly fruit and snacks to larger organisations looking for fully managed workplace food, beverage, and pantry solutions. Some deals move quickly. Others involve site visits, trials, procurement processes, detailed proposals, and several decision-makers. You’ll need to recognise the difference and manage each opportunity with the right level of urgency, structure, and commercial judgement. Working With the Co-Founder You’ll work closely with our Co-Founder, who currently leads much of the company’s new-business sales. In your first few months, you’ll learn the products, pricing, customers, and sales approach by working together on live opportunities. The goal is for you to quickly build confidence, take increasing ownership, and become a key driver of new-business growth. This is an opportunity to join at a stage where your contribution will be visible and where strong performance will have a direct impact on the business. What Success Looks Like In this role, success means: Building and managing a healthy pipeline of qualified new-business opportunities Converting opportunities into profitable customer wins Understanding your numbers and maintaining a clear view of what is likely to close, what is stalled, and what actions are needed next Delivering against agreed sales targets with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Making sound commercial decisions that support long-term customer value and protect margin We care about outcomes, not just activity. You’ll have autonomy in how you manage your work, alongside clear accountability for results. Required 2–4 years of B2B new-business sales experience Experience owning deals from initial conversation through to close Confidence managing the full sales cycle independently Ability to prospect and create opportunities, not just respond to inbound leads Strong commercial judgement and confidence negotiating with customers Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple active opportunities CRM discipline and experience maintaining an accurate pipeline Full driving licence Nice to Have Experience in food service, FMCG, hospitality supply, workplace services, or a related sector Experience selling into Dublin-based businesses Familiarity with HubSpot Applying Send us your CV and a few lines answering two questions: What’s the biggest new-business sales target you’ve personally carried? What percentage of it did you achieve? No long cover letter needed. We’d rather see the numbers. Why Join The Fruit People Full ownership of the sales cycle, from first contact to close A clear path to becoming a central part of the company’s next phase of growth Support from an established commercial team and a structured handover to Account Management after the sale The opportunity to sell a broad and growing range of workplace products and services to a diverse customer base A business with a strong reputation, a loyal customer base, and genuine momentum in the market Team and Culture We value strong performance, sound judgement, and a practical approach to sales. This is a team that cares about winning business the right way — balancing ambition with commercial discipline and long-term customer value. You’ll be trusted to take ownership, expected to know your numbers, and supported as you grow into a key contributor within the business.
