The Network Firewall Engineer assists in the design, configuration, and maintenance of firewalls as part of the organizational network infrastructure and cybersecurity. Responsibilities include deploying, configuring, and maintaining firewall technologies, rules, and security policies. Provides technical support for end users of network technologies at all AnMed Health and remote facilities. Candidate should consistently provide excellent customer service to end users. Duties & Responsibilities Designing and Supporting Firewall Systems: Plan, build, and maintain secure firewall systems using hardware and software. Configuring and Managing Rules: Set up firewall policies, control data flow, and update access rules. Internet Whitelisting: Assists in investigating and whitelisting approved websites for organizational business use. Monitoring Network Traffic: Watch logs and alerts to spot suspicious activity or data breaches. Troubleshooting Issues: Fix connection failures, routing errors, and hardware or software glitches. Upgrading and Patching: Install system updates and new security software for compliance. System Security: Assist in providing overall system security, review and maintain industry compliance updates, and company policies to protect AnMed’s network and data. Documentation: Maintain effective up-to-date documentation of network/system firewalls and networking equipment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Prefer an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science/technical degree. However, significant experience may substitute for formal training. The candidate needs 2-3 years of experience in working with firewalls and networking equipment.
