BGE is seeking an experienced Municipal Facility Operation Coordinator to provide operational recommendations during design and construction, and technical support for water and wastewater systems serving Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs) and public sector clients. This role bridges the gap between engineering, operations, and construction by bringing practical utility operations expertise into planning, design, capital improvement programs, and facility optimization efforts. The ideal candidate is an experienced and motivated water and wastewater professional with a strong operational background who enjoys solving complex challenges, improving facility performance and efficiency, and collaborating with engineers, operators, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle. This an in-office role out at our Houston Corporate location - Westchase area What You'll Do As a Municipal Facility Operation Coordinator, you will serve as a trusted technical resource supporting both project delivery and ongoing utility operations. Responsibilities include: - Support Capital Improvement Program (CIP) development and project prioritization. - Conduct facility assessments, site inspections, and operational evaluations. - Review engineering concepts, plans, and specifications from an operations perspective. - Provide operational QA/QC on design documents to improve maintainability, reliability, and operator accessibility. - Assist with shutdown planning, startup coordination, and sequencing for rehabilitation and expansion projects. - Support construction teams through field observations and operational input. - Troubleshoot facility, treatment, distribution, and collection system issues. - Assist clients with permit compliance and operational challenges. - Support field investigations related to water quality concerns and system performance. - Provide input and coordinate Operations & Maintenance (O&M) summaries and operational guidance documents. - Coordinate with engineers, operators, contractors, and utility districts to identify and implement practical solutions. What We're Looking For - Experience operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, distribution systems, and collection systems. - Current Class C or D license. - Strong understanding of utility operations, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements. - Ability to evaluate infrastructure projects from an operator's perspective and identify opportunities to improve operability and maintainability. - Experience troubleshooting treatment, pumping, distribution, or collection system challenges. - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. - Desire to mentor engineers and contribute operational expertise during planning, design, and construction.
