Mortgage Recruitment Director
Position Summary Equitable Mortgage & Realty, Inc. is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Mortgage Recruiter to join our team. This position will be responsible for identifying, attracting, evaluating, and recruiting qualified mortgage professionals who align with our company’s production goals, culture, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate has established mortgage-industry knowledge, strong sourcing and relationship-building skills, and experience recruiting producing Mortgage Loan Originators and other mortgage professionals. This individual must be comfortable managing the complete recruitment process, from initial outreach and screening through offer acceptance and onboarding coordination. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified mortgage professionals. Recruit Branch Managers, producing Mortgage Loan Originators, loan officer assistants, processors, underwriters, account executives, and other mortgage operations personnel as needed. Source candidates through LinkedIn, Modex, MMI, industry databases, referrals, social media, job boards, professional networks, and direct outreach. Conduct initial screening interviews to evaluate candidates’ experience, production history, licensing, qualifications, and cultural fit. Review Mortgage Loan Originator production history, referral sources, areas of specialization, licensing status, and employment history. Verify candidate licensing information and employment history through NMLS and other appropriate resources. Maintain an active pipeline of qualified mortgage-industry candidates. Build and maintain relationships with prospective candidates, including individuals who may not be ready to make an immediate career change. Clearly communicate the company’s compensation plans, loan products, technology, operational support, benefits, and growth opportunities. Coordinate interviews between candidates and company leadership or hiring managers. Obtain professional references and assist with required pre-employment reviews. Prepare and extend approved employment offers and assist with negotiations when authorized. Coordinate with Human Resources, Compliance, and management throughout the hiring and onboarding process. Maintain accurate recruiting records, candidate notes, follow-up dates, and hiring activity reports. Track recruiting metrics, including candidate outreach, interviews, offers, placements, and retention. Attend mortgage-industry networking events, conferences, and recruiting functions when requested. Protect confidential candidate, employee, compensation, and company information. Ensure recruiting practices comply with applicable employment laws and company policies. Perform additional recruiting and talent-acquisition duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 3 years of professional recruiting or talent-acquisition experience. (5 years preferred) At least 2 years of experience recruiting within the mortgage lending, banking, real estate, or financial-services industry. Demonstrated experience recruiting producing Mortgage Loan Originators. Strong understanding of the mortgage origination process and common mortgage-industry positions. (Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, Non-QM, DSCR, HELOC, Reverse Mortgages, and Private-money loan products preferred). Familiarity with NMLS licensing requirements and the ability to review an individual’s licensing and employment history. (Familiarity with Encompass, NMLS Consumer Access, and mortgage-specific recruiting or production-verification platforms preferred) Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, applicant-tracking systems, recruiting databases, or similar sourcing tools. Strong interviewing, candidate-screening, and relationship-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple candidates and open positions simultaneously. Ability to work independently, meet recruiting goals, and consistently follow up with prospective candidates. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other standard business applications. The Mortgage Recruiter will be expected to: Meet established outreach, interview, and hiring goals. Develop a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates. Provide timely and accurate recruiting updates to management. Maintain professional and consistent communication with all candidates. Represent the company and its employment opportunities accurately. Support the successful transition of hired candidates into the onboarding process.
