Mitigation Project Manager

Job Overview The Water Mitigation Manager oversees all water, fire, mold mitigation projects from initial inspections and assessments through job completion. This role is responsible for accurate Xactimate estimates , scheduling and coordinating projects , ensuring thorough documentation, and communicating with customers and insurance companies. You’ll work closely with our BDM, field technicians, homeowners, and adjusters — making sure jobs move efficiently, stay within scope, and meet quality standards. Key Responsibilities Inspections & Initial Assessments Perform onsite inspections for water, fire, mold losses Identify affected areas, category/class of water, and potential hazards Take moisture readings, photos, and detailed notes Explain findings and recommended mitigation plan to the customer Set expectations around process, timelines, and insurance involvement Project Management Manage mitigation jobs from start to finish Schedule and support field technicians Ensure all work follows IICRC standards and safety guidelines Monitor drying progress, equipment placement, and documentation Handle scope changes and approvals as needed Estimating & Documentation (Xactimate) Write accurate estimates in Xactimate based on inspection findings Upload photos, moisture logs, notes, and job documentation Revise estimates and supplements when required Track approvals and payments with carriers Customer Communication Serve as the main point of contact throughout the project Clearly explain scope, insurance process, and next steps Provide regular updates and resolve concerns quickly Deliver a professional and empathetic experience Insurance & Adjuster Coordination Communicate directly with adjusters and TPAs Submit estimates, reports, and supporting documentation Participate in scope/pricing discussions and negotiate Ensure compliance with carrier/program requirements Team & Operations Support training and coaching for technicians Help improve processes, documentation quality, and safety Participate in on-call rotation when needed Qualifications 2+ years in water mitigation/restoration (preferred) Proven experience using Xactimate (required) Strong knowledge of water mitigation processes/equipment IICRC WRT/ASD (preferred) Experience communicating with insurance carriers/adjusters Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Skills & Competencies Excellent communication and customer-service mindset Strong inspection and documentation discipline Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities Calm problem-solver under pressure Tech-friendly and comfortable with project software Leadership mindset and team-first attitude Compensation Base salary: $60,000–$100,000+ (base salary + commission) Performance bonuses tied to job margins and KPIs Uncapped commission Company vehicle Company mobile and laptop Benefits Paid time off and holidays Paid training and certifications (IICRC, Xactimate, etc.) Growth opportunities as the location expands Supportive, small-team environment Performance Indicators (KPIs) Inspection accuracy and documentation completeness Estimate accuracy and approval rate Job cycle times and project efficiency Customer satisfaction and reviews Profitability and margin performance Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Do you have Xactimate experience?
