# Microbiology Research Officer **ASIAN BIOSCIENCE CORPORATION SDN BHD** · Sri Hartamas · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 3 дня назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Job Position: Microbiology Research Officer Department: Research & Development (R&D) Employment Type: Full-Time Minimum Qualification: Master’s Degree Location: Sri Hartamas Job Summary We are seeking a Microbiology Research Officer to support our Research & Development activities, with a particular focus on microbiological research, fungal and bacterial studies, plant–microbe interactions, and agarwood inoculation research . The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments, maintaining research records, analysing results, and supporting the development of innovative microbiology and biotechnology applications. Key Responsibilities Conduct microbiological research involving bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms . Perform laboratory work including microbial isolation, culturing, identification, screening, and preservation . Develop and conduct experiments related to agarwood inoculation and resin formation . Study the relationship between microorganisms and Aquilaria species , including fungal infection and induced resin production. Prepare culture media, laboratory samples, reagents, and experimental materials. Monitor and document laboratory experiments, observations, and research findings. Collect, analyse, interpret, and report laboratory and experimental data. Maintain accurate laboratory records, SOPs, research reports, and documentation. Assist in developing and improving microbial inoculation techniques and protocols . Conduct laboratory testing and quality control of microbial cultures and research samples. Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, cultures, chemicals, and consumables. Ensure laboratory activities comply with relevant laboratory safety, hygiene, and quality procedures . Assist in research projects involving biotechnology, natural products, plant science, and value-added agarwood products . Coordinate with universities, research institutions, laboratories, consultants, and external research partners. Prepare technical reports, presentations, research papers, and project documentation. Support management in identifying new research opportunities and potential commercial applications. Perform other R&D and laboratory-related duties assigned by management. Minimum Requirements Master’s Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, Plant Pathology, or a related field. Strong understanding of microbiology and laboratory research techniques. Practical experience in microbial culture and laboratory experimentation . Good analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as within a research team. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia , both written and spoken. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint . Added Advantage Experience in fungal and bacterial isolation and identification . Experience with plant–microbe interactions or plant pathology . Experience in agarwood/Aquilaria research or inoculation technology . Knowledge of molecular microbiology techniques such as PCR, DNA extraction, sequencing, or microbial identification . Experience in research documentation, scientific report writing, or publication. Experience working with universities, research institutions, or commercial R&D laboratories. The role will focus on microbiological research involving bacteria and fungi, laboratory experimentation, microbial isolation and identification, and agarwood inoculation and resin formation research . Candidates with practical laboratory experience and knowledge of Aquilaria, fungal inoculation, plant–microbe interactions, or biotechnology will have an added advantage. Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month Benefits: Maternity leave Work Location: In person
