ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead power distribution upgrades for infrastructure projects, with overall accountability for project profitability, safe execution, quality, timely delivery, and client satisfaction. The role will manage the complete project lifecycle, from site surveys, design, and engineering through subcontractor selection, procurement, mobilisation, site execution, testing, commissioning, energisation, and final handover. The successful candidate will combine strong electrical engineering expertise with commercial leadership, own project profit and loss (P&L), and act as the principal liaison with SEWA for approvals, inspections, and compliance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead the end-to-end delivery of electrical infrastructure and power distribution upgrade projects. - Own project P&L, budgets, revenue forecasts, cost control, and cash flow. - Improve project margins through engineering optimisation, procurement savings, productivity, and effective management of variations and claims. - Lead site surveys, design development, and engineering coordination. - Resolve technical and commercial issues while controlling changes to scope, cost, and programme. - Act as the main contact for SEWA and other relevant authorities, coordinating submissions, approvals, and inspections through appropriately approved parties. - Assess and manage approved subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist vendors within delegated authority. - Develop and control execution programmes, procurement schedules, mobilisation plans, and resource requirements. - Lead multidisciplinary project teams and oversee site supervision and coordination. - Monitor critical activities, identify delays, and implement practical recovery plans. - Own project risk management and enforce HSE and quality controls. - Ensure permits, isolations, switching, and energisation activities are managed through competent, authorised personnel. - Verify applicable subcontractor, vendor, and specialist approvals and maintain accurate approval records. - Manage client and consultant relationships, progress reporting, and issue resolution. - Oversee testing, commissioning, completion documentation, training, defect closure, and final handover. - Maintain accurate cost-to-complete forecasts and ensure timely payment applications, variations, and collection follow-up. TECHNICAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification. - More than 10 years of experience managing electrical infrastructure or power distribution projects in the UAE or GCC. - Proven experience delivering power distribution upgrades from survey and design through construction, commissioning, and handover. - Demonstrated experience coordinating SEWA approvals, inspections, and compliance, supported by verifiable project references. - Strong understanding of electrical engineering coordination, site execution, testing, commissioning, and energisation requirements. - Proven experience assessing and managing subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist vendors. - Strong knowledge of project planning, procurement, contract administration, variations, and claims. - Understanding of authority approval requirements and the limits of technical sign-off and operational authorisations. - PMP or an equivalent project management certification is preferred. - Proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project is preferred. - A UAE driving licence is preferred. BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS - Demonstrated ownership of project P&L, budgets, margins, cost forecasts, and cash flow. - Strong technical and commercial decision-making within delegated approval limits. - Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project interfaces. - Strong client, consultant, subcontractor, and authority relationship management. - A practical approach to risk management, problem-solving, and recovery planning. - Ability to balance profitability, safety, quality, delivery commitments, and client satisfaction. - Strong written and spoken English. - Arabic communication skills are an added advantage.
