Project planning and execution Review the MEP scope, drawings, specifications, BOQ, and contract requirements. Prepare and monitor MEP work schedules and installation activities. Plan manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor requirements. Ensure MEP works progress according to the approved project programme. Coordinate daily activities with the project manager, site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors. 2. MEP design and drawing coordination Review shop drawings, IFC drawings, and design documents . Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, HVAC, and other services. Identify clashes between MEP services and architectural/structural elements. Coordinate with BIM engineers/coordinators to resolve clashes. Raise RFIs (Requests for Information) when drawings or specifications are unclear. Review consultant/client comments and ensure revisions are incorporated. 3. Site supervision Supervise installation of MEP systems and ensure work follows approved drawings and specifications. Check installation quality and workmanship. Coordinate with civil, architectural, and other disciplines to avoid site conflicts. Monitor subcontractors and ensure they follow approved method statements and project requirements. Conduct regular site inspections. 4. Material management Prepare or review material submittals . Coordinate material approvals with consultants/client. Prepare material requisitions and track deliveries. Ensure materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications. Coordinate storage and availability of materials to avoid installation delays. 5. Testing and commissioning Depending on the project, you may coordinate testing and commissioning of: HVAC and chilled-water systems Electrical systems and LV panels Lighting and power systems Fire alarm and firefighting systems Plumbing and drainage Pumps and water systems BMS/controls ELV systems You would coordinate testing procedures, inspection requests, commissioning activities, and rectification of deficiencies. 6. Quality control Ensure MEP installations comply with approved shop drawings and specifications. Prepare/coordinate ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and method statements. Raise inspection requests and coordinate consultant inspections. Monitor NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and corrective actions. Maintain inspection and testing records. 7. Authority and UAE compliance A UAE MEP Project Engineer may also need to coordinate with relevant authorities and requirements, depending on the emirate and project, such as: DEWA – Dubai Electricity & Water Authority DCD – Dubai Civil Defence DM – Dubai Municipality Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
