# MEP Coordinator – UPDA-Certified Electrical Engineer **Sigma Contracting & Trading W.l.l** · Doha · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 3 дня назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Sigma Contracting & Trading W.L.L. – Qatar is seeking a qualified and experienced MEP Coordinator with an Electrical Engineering background and valid UPDA/MMUP certification to join our project team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating MEP activities, managing technical documentation, facilitating communication between engineering disciplines, and ensuring timely submission and approval of technical documents. The candidate must have strong knowledge of electrical engineering, MEP coordination, technical submissions, and project requirements, with the ability to resolve technical issues and support smooth project execution. Key Responsibilities - Coordinate MEP engineering activities and technical documentation, including electrical shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, method statements, and prequalification documents . - Liaise with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, architectural, structural, and BIM teams to ensure proper coordination and resolve design conflicts. - Review technical submissions for compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, and applicable engineering standards. - Coordinate the preparation, review, and timely submission of electrical and MEP technical documents to consultants and clients. - Track document submissions, approvals, revisions, and resubmissions to ensure compliance with project schedules. - Maintain and update technical submittal registers, drawing logs, RFI trackers, and correspondence records . - Review consultant and client comments, coordinate necessary revisions, and follow up with relevant engineering teams for timely closure. - Coordinate with Project Managers, site engineers, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve technical and site coordination issues. - Monitor MEP technical matters and work with the Project Manager to identify practical solutions to design and execution challenges. - Coordinate electrical services with other MEP systems to minimize clashes and ensure proper integration. - Prepare, attend, and document technical coordination meetings, including the preparation and follow-up of Minutes of Meetings (MOMs) . - Support procurement and tendering activities by coordinating technical enquiries, material approvals, supplier documentation, and technical data. - Coordinate technical documentation required for authority approvals , ensuring submissions are complete and submitted on time. - Distribute approved drawings and documents to the relevant departments and ensure proper document control and archiving. - Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality requirements, and the Integrated Management System (IMS) . - Support internal and external audits by maintaining traceable records of technical submissions, approvals, and correspondence. - Escalate critical technical issues, coordination conflicts, and submission delays to the Technical Office Manager and Project Manager. Key Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering . - Valid UPDA/MMUP certification in Electrical Engineering is mandatory. - Strong knowledge of electrical engineering systems and MEP coordination in building construction projects. - Good understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, material submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation. - Knowledge of MEP coordination, design interfaces, and construction requirements. - Ability to review technical documents and coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors. - Familiarity with applicable Qatar construction requirements, authority approval procedures, and relevant electrical standards. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office , and document control or project management systems. - Knowledge of BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks or Revit will be an advantage. - Strong communication, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage multiple technical submissions and meet project deadlines. Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. - UPDA/MMUP-certified Electrical Engineer. - Relevant experience in MEP coordination, electrical engineering, or technical office activities within building construction projects. - Experience in managing technical submissions, consultant approvals, drawing coordination, and project correspondence. - Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams and resolving site-related technical issues is preferred. Mandatory Requirements – Qatar - Valid UPDA/MMUP certification in Electrical Engineering . - Valid Qatar ID (QID). - Candidates currently available in Qatar are preferred. - Valid NOC/transferable visa or eligibility for employment transfer in Qatar. Skills & Competencies - Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and MEP coordination. - Excellent technical documentation and coordination skills. - Effective communication and stakeholder management. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - High attention to detail, accuracy, and document traceability. - Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple activities efficiently.
