# MEP - AutoCAD Draftsman **DURAT AL KHALEEJ CONTRACTING** · Dubai · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: 2 дня назад* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role MEP Draftsman – Job Description Position: MEP Draftsman Experience: 8+ Years Location: United Arab Emirates (UAE) Industry: Construction / MEP Services Job Summary Experienced and detail-oriented MEP Draftsman with 8+ years of UAE construction experience , specializing in the preparation, development, and modification of detailed MEP drawings for residential, commercial, high-rise, and infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards, authority requirements, coordination procedures, and site execution. Proficient in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, coordination drawings, and detailed layouts for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Fire Fighting systems. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, construction drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD. Develop layouts and detailed drawings for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, electrical, and other MEP services . Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify discrepancies and coordinate services. Prepare MEP coordination drawings and resolve clashes between MEP services and architectural/structural elements. Prepare builder's work drawings, sleeve drawings, equipment layouts, and installation details . Update drawings based on consultant comments, site requirements, and approved design changes. Prepare accurate as-built drawings based on actual site installation and approved modifications. Coordinate with MEP engineers, project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams. Ensure drawings comply with approved specifications, project standards, and applicable UAE codes and authority requirements . Assist engineers in preparing material take-offs, schedules, equipment layouts, and technical documentation when required. Conduct regular site visits to verify dimensions, existing services, and installation conditions. Incorporate RFI responses, technical changes, and consultant comments into drawings. Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, and document control. Support BIM/3D coordination activities and work with Revit MEP/Navisworks where applicable. Ensure all drawings are issued according to project procedures and within required deadlines. Technical Skills AutoCAD 2D – Advanced Revit MEP – Good working knowledge Navisworks – MEP coordination/clash detection Microsoft Office MEP shop drawing preparation HVAC and ductwork layouts Plumbing and drainage layouts Fire Fighting and Fire Alarm layouts Electrical layouts and containment coordination MEP coordination and clash resolution As-built drawing preparation Knowledge of UAE construction practices and authority requirements Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field. 8+ years of experience as an MEP Draftsman , preferably with significant UAE construction experience. Strong experience working on construction projects from design/shop drawing stage through to completion and handover. Good understanding of MEP installation methods and construction drawings. Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with engineers, consultants, contractors, and site teams. Knowledge of UAE standards and authority requirements such as DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, and relevant municipality requirements is an advantage. Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be technically strong, highly accurate, capable of working under project deadlines, and experienced in coordinating multiple MEP disciplines on active construction sites. UAE project experience and familiarity with consultant approval procedures will be highly valued.
