The Medical Receptionist is one of the first points of contact for patients contacting or visiting LivingCare. The post holder will provide a welcoming, professional and efficient reception service while managing a varied workload in a busy clinical environment. The role includes meeting, greeting and checking in patients; processing clinic administration and correspondence; arranging follow-up activity; and booking appointments in person and by telephone. The post holder must be able to prioritise effectively, work accurately and maintain consistently high standards of customer service. Patients must be treated as individuals and shown respect, compassion, humility and warmth at every stage of their experience. We are looking for a dedicated team member who will place patients at the heart of everything they do. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, courteous and helpful manner. Complete patient check-in procedures accurately and efficiently. Book, amend and manage patient appointments in person and by telephone. Complete electronic booking and administrative requirements accurately and within agreed timescales. Ensure all required processes are completed for patients booking appointments with LivingCare. Provide timely administrative support to consultants while they are delivering clinics, as required. Manage post-clinic administration, including follow-up actions and patient correspondence. Process onward referrals promptly and accurately where required. Respond to telephone and email enquiries professionally, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Monitor waiting times and escalate delays or concerns through the appropriate operational route. Maintain accurate patient information and administrative records in line with relevant policies and procedures. Support a positive patient experience by resolving queries where possible and escalating concerns appropriately.
