Medical Billing Specialist - POD LEADER

Job Overview

As a Medical Billing Specialist - POD LEADER, you’ll guide a billing team through accurate, timely claims processing and follow-up. You’ll apply medical billing regulations and health insurance knowledge from pre-bill review, claim submission, payment posting to denials and final resolution. This role is suited to someone who can balance hands-on billing work with clear team direction.

Duties

• Lead and coordinate daily billing workflows, assign work, and support team members in resolving complex accounts.
• Review claims for accuracy, including medical coding and International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding, before submission.
• Manage insurance third-party billing, denials, payment posting, and account follow-up using billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
• Apply Medicare and Medicaid regulations and other medical billing compliance requirements to claims and account decisions.
• Monitor work quality and workflow issues, communicate findings, and help improve revenue cycle management processes.
• Your impact: Accurate claims and timely follow-up help patients and healthcare teams resolve billing issues and support reliable revenue collection.

Skills

• Client liaison: Be the primary contact for practice owners, translating technical billing hurdles into actionable business insight.
• Revenue cycle oversight: Oversee the monthly RCM dashboards and run deeper data analysis when a KPI is off target.
• Required: 3 years medical billing experience, health insurance knowledge, and familiarity with billing software, Google Workspace, and EHR management.
• Preferred: Experience with Out-patient Physical Therapy
• Required: Team management experience, including coordinating workflows and reviewing work for accuracy.

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
