Media Associate

Help tell the story of one of New York City's most vibrant Catholic parishes.

The Media Associate supports our parish's digital evangelization and communications efforts by capturing and sharing the life of our community through photography, video, design, and social media. From beautiful liturgies and inspiring music to community events and educational programs, you'll help produce engaging content that reaches thousands of parishioners and members of the wider Catholic community each week.This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career creative looking to build a professional portfolio while contributing to meaningful work. Every week brings new people, stories, celebrations, and moments worth sharing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Photograph and film parish liturgies, concerts, lectures, and community events.
• Livestream daily Masses and other special liturgical celebrations.
• Edit short-form video content for social media and other digital platforms.
• Design posters, graphics, and promotional materials for parish events.
• Update and maintain content on the parish website.
• Assist with social media content creation, publishing, and community engagement.
• Support other communications and media projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience with photography and video editing.
• A strong visual eye for storytelling and composition.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with parish staff and volunteers.
• Willingness to work weekends and attend occasional evening or special events.

Preferred

• Experience photographing or filming live events.
• Experience creating content for or managing an organization's social media presence.
• Experience updating or maintaining a website.
• Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with the Catholic Church and its traditions is helpful but not required.

We're looking for someone who is curious, creative, and eager to learn—someone who enjoys working with people, isn't afraid to pick up a camera at a busy event, and is excited by the challenge of telling meaningful stories through digital media.
