# Mechanical Project Manager – Building Services **Mech Electrics** · Manchester · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role A different kind of Mechanical Project Management opportunity Are you a Mechanical Project Manager who enjoys the engineering and delivery side of the job, but would welcome the opportunity to work on more interesting, technically challenging projects? Would you prefer to work directly with end-user clients, rather than navigating the multiple layers of traditional main contracting, competing priorities and pressure on subcontract margins? Mech Electrics is recruiting on behalf of an established specialist engineering contractor delivering bespoke mechanical building services installations and technically demanding controlled environments. This is an opportunity to apply your experience from the commercial and industrial built environment to projects where engineering solutions are rarely standard, and where technical knowledge and problem-solving genuinely matter. You don't need cleanroom or controlled environment experience. We're looking for strong mechanical building services professionals who want to develop their careers within a specialist engineering sector. The opportunity Our client designs and delivers technically complex facilities, working closely with end users across sectors including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing. Projects involve specialist HVAC, ventilation, environmental control and mechanical services integration, with a strong emphasis on design, quality and commissioning. The business has its own design, CAD, pre-construction, commercial and business development teams , providing excellent support throughout the project lifecycle. Importantly, each project has a dedicated Site Manager responsible for day-to-day site operations. As Mechanical Project Manager, you'll be based predominantly in the Manchester office, orchestrating project delivery and making regular site visits to meet with the Site Manager, wider delivery team and client. This allows you to concentrate on managing the engineering, programme, commercial performance and client relationships, rather than spending every day supervising site activities. Your responsibilities - Manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through installation, commissioning and handover. - Coordinate design, procurement, subcontractors, project programmes and resources. - Work closely with in-house technical, commercial and site delivery teams. - Maintain direct relationships with clients, attending progress meetings and managing expectations. - Identify and resolve engineering challenges, programme risks and design coordination issues. - Oversee project performance, quality, commissioning and successful handover. What we're looking for We're interested in established Mechanical Project Managers or experienced Mechanical Project Engineers ready to take the next step. You'll ideally have: - A strong background in mechanical building services contracting, particularly HVAC and associated mechanical installations. - Experience delivering mechanical packages within commercial, industrial or technically complex buildings. - A good understanding of design coordination, procurement, installation and commissioning. - Experience managing subcontractors, programmes and project resources. - Commercial awareness and confidence dealing with clients and consultants. - An HNC, HND or degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous. Previous cleanroom experience is not required. Your mechanical engineering and project delivery experience are what matter. Why consider this opportunity? - Direct client relationships – Work closely with end users rather than being several tiers removed from the client. - Interesting engineering – Deliver bespoke, technically challenging installations rather than repetitive building services projects. - Proper internal support – Established design, CAD, pre-construction and commercial teams, plus dedicated Site Managers. - Office-based project management – Manage your projects from Manchester, with regular site visits rather than being permanently site-based. - Specialist career development – Build expertise Pay: £65,000.00-£78,000.00 per year Benefits: - Free or subsidised travel Work Location: Hybrid remote in Manchester
