Mechanical (HVAC) Senior Engineer

As we embark on a new project, we are seeking an experienced HVAC Senior Engineer to lead and oversee all aspects of project execution.

Job Summary: The HVAC Senior Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing HVAC projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and Sub-contractors and with the consultant/client to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Technical Coordination:

Manage and supervise Mechanical/HVAC works throughout project execution, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, consultant/client requirements, and project schedules.

Technical Review:

Review HVAC design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical specifications, and related project documentation. Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

Site Supervision:

Supervise and monitor HVAC installation activities on site, ensuring works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, and project requirements.

Team & Subcontractor Coordination:

Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other disciplines to ensure smooth execution of Mechanical/HVAC works and timely resolution of site issues.

Consultant & Client Coordination:

Attend technical and progress meetings with consultants and clients, respond to technical comments, inspections, and RFIs, and ensure required approvals are obtained.

Planning & Progress Monitoring:

Monitor project progress against approved schedules, identify potential delays, and coordinate with the project team to maintain planned milestones.

Cost & Material Control:

Monitor material requirements, quantities, procurement status, and HVAC-related project costs while supporting value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Ensure Mechanical/HVAC works comply with project specifications, approved materials, QA/QC requirements, authority regulations, and relevant industry standards.

Testing & Commissioning:

Coordinate and supervise HVAC testing, commissioning, inspections, snagging, and final handover activities.

Technical Problem Solving:

Identify technical and execution risks, resolve site-related engineering issues, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 9+ years of experience in Mechanical/HVAC projects, preferably within the UAE/GCC region.
• Strong experience in HVAC installation, execution, testing, commissioning, and project coordination.
• Proven experience working on medium to large-scale MEP/HVAC projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, Mechanical Engineering principles, drawings, specifications, materials, and applicable codes and standards.
• Good understanding of project planning, cost control, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.
• Strong technical, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and relevant engineering/project management software.
• Ability to coordinate and oversee multiple HVAC projects simultaneously.
• Professional engineering certifications or relevant HVAC/MEP certifications are an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving license
