Responsible for the day-to-day assembly of Nibblers and Sifters (and other machines). Monitoring any issues arising to ensure production targets and quality standards are met in line with the requirements of the customer. To complete the factory manufacturing production plan as agreed with the Production Manager and to ensure that all components are correct & completed on time to the required specification and quality. To ensure that all Health and Safety procedures and policies are strictly adhered to. Ensure all in-house Components for assembly, goods inwards fully comply with the required specification and quality. MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS - To provide effective Support to the Fitting team to ensure that all processes are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Company. - Liaise with the Team Leader & Production Manager to establish and co-operate with the Factory Production Plan, to ensure that all despatches are made by the due date. - Inspect all in-house components for assembly, bought in components to ensure that they fully comply with the required specification and quality. - Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed in order to ensure that specifications are correct. - Determine materials requirements and task sequences. Job Description - Mechanical Fitter 240823 240823 - Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using the appropriate equipment - Position, align and fit components to form complete units or subunits, following engineering drawings and layout specifications. - Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using Vibration Meters, Temperature Probes, Earth Continuity Meters, squares, rulers, and measuring tapes. - Ensure all Documentation is completed correctly. - On occasion. provide training of less experienced operators on assembly related aspects of products and processes as required. - On occasions the Production Manager may request other duties to be undertaken. - Develop effective working relationships with all company personnel to foster a productive working atmosphere and a flexible team-oriented workforce with a ‘do it right first time’ approach to their work. Maintain high standards. - Support and promote continuous improvement in all areas of the workplace. - Occasional Site Work as required. - Ensure that all Health & Safety requirements and standards are understood and maintained. - Maintaining a safe, healthy working environment. Maintain a neat, tidy, organised workplace at all times. - Report and potential safety issues to your supervisor or other level of management immediately. - Attending Health and Safety Committee Meetings as required. - Attend Production Meetings as required. - Participation in product development & manufacture. - Support and maintain the company ISO 9001 Quality Management system, including implementing/processing internal audits, NCRs, OFIs and Customer Complaints as required. - Undertake appropriate ‘Ad Hoc’ internal projects as may be occasionally assigned to you. - As a key employee of the Company participate in its general wellbeing and overall development. - Build and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues. - Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them. PERSON SPECIFICATION: - Able to read technical drawings. - Competent & Efficient at mechanical assembly and the use of hand tools and machinery. - Good problem solver. - Thorough, high attention to detail and quality.
