Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer

ParoDublin, County Dublin

Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer

Remote | Contract / Project-Based | $40–$125 USD per hour

Paro is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineering professionals for remote, project-based AI training opportunities. This work allows engineers to apply their real-world technical expertise to evaluate and improve how advanced AI models perform complex mechanical engineering tasks.

This is not a traditional mechanical engineering position. You’ll use your professional judgment to develop realistic engineering problems, review AI-generated work, identify technical errors and weaknesses, and evaluate responses against professional engineering standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop challenging, realistic mechanical engineering tasks based on real-world professional workflows.
  • Create supporting materials such as drawings, CAD models, load cases, material data, test data, and specifications.
  • Evaluate AI-generated calculations, analyses, design reviews, and technical reports.
  • Compare AI-generated solutions and identify where reasoning or technical execution falls short.
  • Develop worked solutions, acceptance criteria, and detailed grading standards.
  • Identify errors involving boundary conditions, units, tolerances, interference, factors of safety, materials, failure modes, and other engineering considerations.
  • Contribute across areas such as design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and validation.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field completed or in progress.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more areas such as:
  • Mechanical design and CAD
  • Structures and materials
  • Stress, fatigue, deflection, or failure analysis
  • Thermal and fluid systems
  • HVAC, pumps, or piping
  • Dynamics, vibration, or rotating machinery
  • Manufacturing, DFM/DFA, GD&T, or tolerance analysis
  • Experience with relevant engineering tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, Creo, NX, CATIA, Inventor, FEA/CFD tools, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical reasoning and identify why a proposed solution is incorrect.
  • Current or recent hands-on engineering experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional-level written and spoken English.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed remote environment.

Engagement Details

Pay: $40 – $125 USD per hour Work Arrangement: Fully remote, contract/project-based Availability: Approximately 10+ hours per week preferred; additional hours may be available Location: United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom Schedule: Flexible

Assessment & Onboarding

Qualified applicants will be invited to complete an approximately 2–4 hour unpaid skills assessment designed to evaluate technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to assess AI-generated work against professional standards.

Assessment submissions must represent the applicant’s own work and may not be completed using AI tools.

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment may become eligible for ongoing paid AI training projects based on expertise, performance, and available work.

If you have hands-on mechanical engineering experience and are interested in applying your expertise to the development of advanced AI systems, we encourage you to apply.

Expected hours: No less than 10.0 per week

Application question(s):

  • Do you have general familiarity with AI/LLM tools such as ChatGPT or Claude?
  • Are you willing to complete an unpaid, independent technical assessment lasting approximately 2–4 hours without using AI assistance?

Experience:

  • hand on mechanical engineering: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: Remote
