Mechanical Design Engineer

We are an Engineering Consultancy office located in Business Bay, Dubai, and we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5 to 10 years of Dubai consultancy experience .

1. Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis

§ Mechanical system design for residential, commercial, and industrial projects in compliance with UAE regulations and standards.

§ Develop detailed HVAC design drawings, calculations, and specifications (HAP, CFM, ESP, duct sizing, static pressure calculations).

§ Perform cooling load calculations, ventilation design, and equipment selection (FAHU, AHU, FCU, exhaust systems).

§ Design water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems in accordance with Dubai Municipality (DM) guidelines.

§ Determine GPM requirements for pumps, including firefighting pumps, transfer pumps, and circulation pumps.

§ Hydraulic calculation and head calculation in selection of pumps.

§ Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural and structural teams using BIM/Revit.

§ Conduct energy analysis and integrate sustainable mechanical design strategies to enhance building performance.

§ Prepare technical reports, BOQs, specifications, and authority‑compliant documentation.

1. Project Management

§ Manage mechanical engineering design packages from concept to IFC stage, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

§ Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and authorities to ensure mechanical designs meet project objectives.

§ Identify project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure timely delivery of mechanical design submissions.

1. Construction Supervision & Coordination

§ Provide technical oversight during construction to ensure mechanical systems are installed as per approved drawings and standards.

§ Conduct site inspections, verify installation quality, and resolve mechanical‑related issues.

§ Coordinate with mechanical contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure smooth execution and compliance with specifications.

§ Review main contractor's shop drawings and provide comments to ensure design compliance with DM standards.

1. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

§ Plan and oversee testing & commissioning of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, pumps, ventilation).

§ Conduct functional performance tests, troubleshoot deficiencies, and ensure systems operate as per design intent.

§ Prepare commissioning reports, compliance documentation, and handover packages for client acceptance.

1. Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

§ Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure the integrity of mechanical designs and installations.

§ Review design documents, shop drawings, and material submissions for compliance with project requirements.

§ Conduct site audits to verify adherence to safety, regulatory, and authority standards.

Qualifications

§ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

§ 5–10 years of Dubai consultancy experience in mechanical design; DM‑approved required.

§ Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, and other mechanical design tools.

§ Strong knowledge of UAE codes and regulations: DEWA, DM, DCD, Trakhees, TECOM, DDA, JAFZA.

§ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex mechanical engineering challenges.

§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary coordination.

§ Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with mechanical engineering best practices.

§ Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality work within deadlines.

§ Experience with BIM and energy modelling is an advantage.

§ Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED is a plus.

§ Fluency in English & Arabic

Valid UAE Driving License
