Job Summary The Manager – Stock Analyst is responsible for overseeing inventory analytics, stock valuation, demand forecasting, material reconciliation, and audit control across the organization. This role focuses on optimizing inventory levels, reducing holding costs, minimizing stockouts, and ensuring high data accuracy within the ERP system for raw materials (SS304/SS316, mild steel, aluminum), engineered components, bought-out items, and finished machinery. Key Responsibilities 1. Inventory Analysis & Control Analyze stock data to monitor turnover ratios, lead times, safety stock levels, and reorder points. Categorize inventory using standard methodologies (ABC, VED, FSN analysis) to prioritize control and focus areas. Identify slow-moving, non-moving, obsolete, and surplus stock, proposing actionable strategies for liquidation or utilization. Track inventory variance between physical stock and ERP records, conducting root-cause analysis for discrepancies. 2. Demand Forecasting & Planning Collaborate with Production Planning, Purchase, and Sales departments to align inventory levels with manufacturing schedules. Forecast material requirements based on Bills of Materials (BOMs), active projects, and historical usage patterns. Prevent critical production delays by proactively flagging potential material shortages and delivery bottlenecks. 3. Audit, Reconciliation & Compliance Lead periodic, monthly, and annual physical stock counts and perpetual inventory audits. Perform material reconciliation across Stores, Production, and Subcontractor/Vendor locations. Establish robust internal stock audit controls, verification workflows, and inventory tracking procedures. Ensure material movements follow strict FIFO/FEFO principles and company quality compliance rules. 4. ERP, Reporting & Systems Management Maintain high integrity and real-time accuracy of inventory databases in Tally / ERP systems. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory MIS reports, KPI dashboards, and valuation summaries for executive management. Implement process automation and digital tools to enhance stock visibility and transaction efficiency. 5. Cross-Functional Coordination & Strategy Coordinate with the Purchase department to optimize order quantities, buffer stocks, and batch sizes. Partner with Accounts & Finance on inventory valuation, stock audits, working capital efficiency, and material costing. Support Quality and Stores teams in managing defective, rejected, or return-to-vendor (RTV) material workflows. Required Skills & Qualifications Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related fields. MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Logistics is strongly preferred. Experience: 10–15 years of experience in inventory analysis, inventory control, or stock auditing. Minimum 5–8 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity. Experience in pharmaceutical machinery, capital goods, fabrication, heavy engineering, or industrial manufacturing is highly preferred. Core Technical & Behavioral Competencies: Strong analytical, data modeling, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Tally/Custom ERP), MS Excel (Advanced), and data visualization tools. Solid understanding of engineering materials (SS304, SS316, electrical/pneumatic components, hardware, fabrication items) and BOM structures. Expertise in inventory management frameworks (ABC/FSN/VED, FIFO, Reorder Level optimization). Strong leadership, cross-functional communication, and report writing capabilities.
