In a high quality catalog, every product is described with a complete, structured, accurate and correctly normalized set of facts. Every product is represented by a unique record appropriately related to one another. The Global catalog operations (GCO) team is part of Amazon Selection & Catalog services (ASCS) teams in India focus on leveraging human intelligence, external or internal, to measure and improve the quality of the catalog: Global catalog operations (GCO) charter is to make Catalog engineering programs more effective by providing expert human judgment. Catalog Operations from its inception has been partnering with engineering teams to run programs focused on improving the data quality of catalog in all market places. We are seeking an experienced people leader to join our rapidly growing team as a Manager II, Program Management. In this role you will build and lead a team of SMEs, auditors and Program Managers responsible for developing insights and eliminating quality defects that affect business metrics. You will own a portfolio of catalog quality programs rather than a single workstream, set the direction and mechanisms your team operates by, and be accountable for the aggregate delivery and business outcomes of the programs under you. As part of this role, you will 1) hire, develop, and lead a team of auditors, SMES and program managers, growing the bench and the capability of the function, 2) own a portfolio of quality programs, prioritizing across competing initiatives and allocating capacity to the highest impact opportunities, 3) set the operating mechanisms, standards, and roadmap that make your team's programs measurable and repeatable, and 4) work collaboratively across partner teams (Science, PMs, Engineering, Business, etc.) and represent catalog quality program management to senior leadership across GCO and partner orgs. Key job responsibilities As a Manager II, Program Management you will: - Build, lead, and develop a team of auditors, SMEs and program managers, owning hiring, performance management, coaching, and career growth - Own catalog quality programs, setting priorities across competing initiatives and allocating team capacity to the highest impact work - Establish the operating mechanisms, standards, and roadmap that ensure your team's programs deliver measurable business and operational outcomes - Be accountable for the aggregate delivery and business/operational metrics of the programs under your team - Drive quantitative, data-oriented decision making across the portfolio and champion the adoption of technology solutions and process improvements - Communicate program progress, risks, and results to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with key business goals - Identify systemic gaps across process areas and mobilize your team and stakeholders to resolve them - Serve as an escalation point and senior partner for in-house and customer teams across Science, Engineering, Product, and Business - Ensure effective risk controls are developed and maintained across programs, with corrective actions that keep commitments on track and minimize losses - Develop and influence new ideas, establishing procedures and practices that promote long-term, scalable solutions in dynamic environments - Drive continuous improvement and decision-making strategies across the team and the broader function - 3+ years of program or project management experience - 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience - 3+ years of delivering cross functional projects experience - Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements - 5+ years of team management experience
