# Manager - Firmware **GND Solutions** · Bengaluru, Karnataka · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role About the Role We are looking for a hands-on engineering candidate to own the end-to-end development of embedded and IoT products, covering hardware, firmware, validation, quality, manufacturing, and production engineering from concept through mass production. The role requires strong technical depth, practical problem-solving, and the ability to lead a high-performing engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment. Key Responsibilities: Own the overall engineering direction and make practical architecture and design decisions that balance performance, cost, time, and reliability. Lead hardware development from early concepts through production, including schematic design reviews, PCB reviews, component selection, RF considerations, and DFM and DFT. Take ownership of hardware validation, cost reduction, and component risk and obsolescence management. Lead firmware development across embedded platforms, including RTOS-based and bare-metal systems. Ensure the firmware is stable, power-efficient, secure, and maintainable. Oversee implementation of wireless technologies such as BLE, LoRa or LoRaWAN, cellular, and Wi-Fi as needed. Own product quality end to end. Define how products are tested, validated, and signed off before release. Ensure issues are caught early and that field failures are analysed and fixed properly, not patched over. Take ownership during pilot builds and mass production. Work closely with manufacturing partners to resolve yield issues, test failures, and reliability problems. Be directly involved in root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production and field returns. Build and improve production automation. Oversee factory test firmware, test jigs, fixtures, calibration flows, and data traceability. Continuously improve test coverage, throughput, and repeatability as volumes grow. Work closely with product, operations, supply chain, customers, and certification labs. Act as the final technical escalation point for difficult engineering and production issues. Build, lead, and retain a small but strong engineering team across hardware, firmware, QA, and manufacturing engineering. Set clear ownership, keep processes lightweight, and focus on execution and accountability. Required Background Around 15+ years of experience in embedded systems and product engineering. Strong hands-on background in both embedded hardware and firmware. Experience taking embedded or IoT products from prototype to mass production. Comfortable working with manufacturing partners and handling production and field issues directly. Strong understanding of quality, reliability, and production realities. Ability to operate at both a high-level and deep technical level in a startup environment. What You Will Do Own end-to-end embedded product engineering across hardware, firmware, quality, manufacturing, production automation, and engineering team leadership from concept to mass production. What We’re Looking For 10+ years of hands-on experience in embedded hardware, firmware, IoT product development, manufacturing, quality, and technical team leadership, with proven experience taking products from concept to mass production.
