About this role The Manager, DevOps contributes to the development and implementation of a global hosting strategy aiming at improving business processes and global organization effectiveness and will provide leadership, strategy, financial management and responsibility over this key business unit. This role will focus on delivering excellence when it comes to system uptime, change management, cost effectiveness, disaster recovery, business continuity, security, and compliance of the company’s IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities - Establish and uphold a compliance framework that aligns with industry standards to ensure operational integrity. - Continuously enhance the security and compliance of production environments, implementing best practices and new security measures - Ensure high availability of cloud services, maintaining reliable and continuous access to cloud-based resources and applications - Deliver reliable hosted solutions with consistent uptime of 99.9% or higher. - Establish and sustain effective monitoring and incident management processes to ensure IT operational reliability. - Develop and implement a robust system for tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance accountability across the organization - Optimize platform efficiency by migrating customers to cost-effective solutions or renegotiating terms with current platforms. - Manage vendor relationships effectively, from selection through to negotiating contracts, ensuring favorable terms and strategic partnerships - Lead and optimize the integration process for Delivery Engine (DE) teams post-acquisition, ensuring seamless operational and cultural alignment - Successfully execute CloudOps acquisition integrations within Board committed timelines Key qualities - Involves a meticulous approach to work, prioritizing accuracy and thoroughness to ensure high-quality outcomes - Plays chess, not firefighting — spots problems before they exist, anticipates second- and third-order downstream impacts, and selects the intervention that compounds best.\nDistinction: Decisive under uncertainty is acting under incomplete information; Proactive Problem Solving is the upstream act of seeing the board clearly. - Proficiency in utilizing data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive business strategies - Encapsulates taking full responsibility for one’s actions and their outcomes, emphasizing accountability and learning from experiences - Capability to guide and influence stakeholders and team members to achieve company goals Skills - AI proficiency - Ensures compliance with industry regulations to manage risks and maintain standards. - Monitors systems to ensure performance stability and quick issue resolution. - Manages hosting services to ensure reliable and accessible application performance. - Manages vendor relations to ensure high-quality and efficient service delivery. - Conducts thorough risk assessments to safeguard organizational interests. Requirements - 5-6 years of experience in cloud engineering with a strong Azure focus; AWS experience is a plus. - Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or equivalent; Azure-specific IaC experience preferred. - Kubernetes experience required, ideally on AKS; EKS experience considered.
