Maintenance Technician
Keep our community running
Freedom Community Management is hiring a hands-on Maintenance Technician for a condominium community in Estero, Florida. You will keep the buildings, grounds, and amenities safe and working, and you will be the person residents see fixing things the right way the first time.
About us
Freedom Community Management is a community association management company. This position is on site at a condominium community in Estero, Florida, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Owners count on us to keep their property well maintained, and we want a technician who takes pride in that.
About the role
You will work on site and report directly to the Community Association Manager (CAM). 90 days in, success looks like this: work orders close quickly and correctly, preventive maintenance runs on a schedule instead of waiting for breakdowns , common areas pass inspection, and outside vendors are supervised and held to their scope. This is physical, outdoor work in the Florida heat, and you will sometimes be called in for after-hours emergencies such as leaks or storm damage or access control.
What you'll do
- Complete work orders for common areas, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs
- Run preventive maintenance on pool equipment, irrigation, lighting, doors, gates, and other community systems
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and amenities on a regular route, and report hazards or needed repairs to the manager
- Keep the pool, clubhouse, fitness center, and other amenities clean, safe, and in working order
- Meet and supervise outside contractors, confirm their work matches scope, and report on quality
- Help prepare the property before and clean up after storms and hurricanes
- Track parts, supplies, and completed work in the work order system
What we're looking for
Required
- 2+ years of building, property, or facilities maintenance experience
- Hands-on experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs
- Clear, professional communication with residents, the manager, and vendors
- Your own basic hand tools
- Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation
- Able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work outdoors in heat
- Available for on-call emergencies, including during storm events
- Able to pass a background check
Preferred
- Experience at a condominium, HOA, or apartment community
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Experience with a work order system
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
