Join a Growing Logistics Company!

Unified Logistic Services is a rapidly growing transportation and logistics company with over 20 years of experience in the industry. With established operations in Miami and our newly expanded 80,000-square-foot Lakeland distribution facility, we are continuing to grow our footprint throughout Florida.

As our operations expand, we are looking to strengthen our management team by hiring an experienced, hands-on 2nd Shift Logistics Manager.

This individual will work closely alongside our Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse activities, coordinate drivers, manage inbound and outbound freight, and ensure our operation runs efficiently.

We are not looking for someone who simply manages from a desk. We need a leader who understands transportation, takes ownership, solves problems, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.

About Our Operations

Our Lakeland facility operates as a regional LTL and final-mile distribution hub, servicing Central Florida, Tampa Bay, the Treasure Coast, Gainesville, Ocala, Jacksonville, and surrounding markets.

Our operation includes:

Daily inbound and outbound LTL freight processing.

Cross-docking, freight staging, sorting, and distribution.

Final-mile deliveries to commercial and residential customers.

Daily coordination of approximately 25–30 delivery drivers operating box trucks and tractor-trailers.

Managing multiple inbound trailers, outbound routes, and daily pickups.

Coordinating delivery appointments, time-sensitive freight, and customer service requirements.

Managing warehouse personnel, forklift operators, and dock operations.

Working with transportation management systems (TMS), electronic dispatch platforms, and freight tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Freight Operations

Work alongside the Operations Manager to oversee second-shift operations.

Supervise inbound unloading, outbound loading, cross-docking, and freight staging.

Ensure all outbound freight is properly organized, verified, and loaded for scheduled routes.

Prioritize time-sensitive freight and maintain efficient trailer turnaround times.

Monitor freight accuracy, shortages, damages, and OS&D documentation.

Ensure warehouse teams follow established safety and operational procedures.

Transportation & Driver Management

Assist with managing daily driver dispatch, pickups, deliveries, and route execution.

Coordinate with dispatchers to resolve delivery exceptions, missed pickups, and service delays.

Monitor driver performance, communication, and route completion.

Ensure drivers have accurate paperwork and delivery instructions.

Help maintain strong service levels and customer satisfaction.

Leadership & Operational Accountability

Lead, motivate, and hold warehouse personnel accountable for daily performance.

Maintain communication between dispatch, customer service, warehouse personnel, and management.

Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.

Ensure accurate freight tracking and timely system updates.

Provide end-of-shift operational reports, including outstanding freight, service exceptions, and pending priorities.

Take ownership of the operation and make sound decisions under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

Previous management or supervisory experience in transportation, logistics, or warehouse distribution.

Strong experience in LTL transportation and final-mile delivery operations.

Knowledge of inbound/outbound freight handling, cross-docking, and route dispatching.

Experience supervising drivers, warehouse teams, or dock personnel.

Ability to multitask and make decisions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Comfortable working with transportation management systems, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office.

Flexibility to work second shift and some Sundays as operational needs require.

Preferred:

Experience working with LTL carriers or final-mile delivery providers.

Knowledge of freight routing throughout Florida.

Experience managing high-volume distribution facilities.

Familiarity with freight exceptions, delivery appointments, and operational performance metrics.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a strong operational leader with a sense of urgency and accountability.

Someone who:

Leads by example and isn’t afraid to get involved on the warehouse floor.

Can manage multiple moving parts without losing focus.

Understands that communication and organization are critical to successful logistics operations.

Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Can work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Wants to grow professionally as part of an expanding organization.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
