We are looking for an experienced and reliable Loft Surveyor & Sales Consultant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will primarily cover Sheffield and Chesterfield, with occasional travel to Stoke-on-Trent. The Role As a Loft Surveyor & Sales Consultant, you will visit customers' homes to assess their loft space, carry out detailed surveys and accurate measurements, and recommend the most suitable loft storage solution for their needs. You will also be responsible for discussing our products and services with customers and converting suitable survey appointments into confirmed jobs. Key Responsibilities Carry out detailed surveys of residential loft spaces. Take accurate measurements of loft spaces, access areas and relevant dimensions. Assess lofts for boarding and storage solutions . Assess and advise on loft hatch relocation or installation of new loft hatches . Assess existing and required loft insulation . Identify potential access, structural or installation issues. Identify the type and condition of existing ceilings . Identify different types of architraves and assess any potential impact on the proposed works. Explain our products and services clearly to customers. Recommend suitable loft storage solutions based on each customer's requirements. Prepare and present quotations where required. Convert suitable surveys into confirmed sales. Record measurements, photographs and all relevant information accurately. Provide clear and detailed survey information to the office and installation teams. Ensure all surveys are completed accurately and to a high standard. Travel across Sheffield and Chesterfield, with occasional visits to Stoke-on-Trent. Requirements Previous experience in the construction or building industry is essential . Experience carrying out site surveys and taking accurate measurements . Good knowledge of different types of architraves . Good knowledge of different types of ceilings and ceiling construction , including plasterboard, lath and plaster, and other common residential ceiling types. Good understanding of residential construction and building methods. Knowledge of loft spaces, insulation, loft access and storage solutions . Previous sales or customer-facing experience is an advantage. Confident discussing products, services and pricing with customers. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to identify potential installation issues and assess the most suitable approach for each property. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Full UK driving licence. Comfortable working in loft spaces and residential properties. The ideal candidate will combine construction knowledge, attention to detail and sales ability . You should be comfortable working independently, advising customers and turning suitable survey appointments into confirmed installations.
