Life Skills Workshop Designer - Alpha - an EDU Startup
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person employee role located at our Austin, Texas campus. Imagine being the reason an 8-year-old can pitch a business idea better than most adults or why a 10-year-old can command a stage like a TED speaker. At Alpha, that's not just possible, it’s the expectation. We design life skills workshops that stretch K–8 students to do the “impossible,” and we’re looking for someone who can craft experiences that kids beg to return to and parents can't stop talking about. This is not a traditional instructional design job. You won’t be tweaking lessons in a bloated bureaucracy or building content no one uses. Here, you’ll own the full design of workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship then push them to the next level through real-time feedback from students, parents, and rigorous Test2Pass assessments. You'll operate like a one-person product team, armed with cutting-edge AI tools, and expected to produce the kind of work that our schools expect. This role is based on our Austin, TX campus. It’s full-time and in-person because watching how kids actually engage is non-negotiable. If you want to build educational experiences that are joyful, jaw-dropping, and mastery-driven, this is the job that lets you do it. Designing mastery-driven life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that kids love and parents admire. Building rigorous Test2Pass assessment to objectively measure growth and mastery. Observing student behavior in real workshops and translating both kid energy and parent feedback into design improvements. Using AI tools to rabbit-hole, synthesize insights, and accelerate your iteration cycles. Framing content for both emotional resonance and academic credibility, always aiming for delight and rigor. Create irresistible life skills workshops in public speaking and entrepreneurship that kids love, parents admire, and that demonstrably develop mastery through Test2Pass. Enabling children to achieve things beyond their years. Bachelor’s degree in any field At least 1 year of experience creating educational content, workshops, or trainings Demonstrated ability to design experiences that delight kids and impress parents Proven experience building assessments that measure real skill (not just participation) Strong decomposition and simplification skills to break complex life skills into teachable steps Proficient with Gen AI tools Able to work independently on a high-autonomy, self-directed team Willing to work full-time in-person at Alpha’s Austin campus Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
