Leisure Centre Operations Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Operations Manager to join our leadership team at Stantonbury Leisure Centre - Milton Keynes. Stantonbury Hub comprises Stantonbury Leisure Centre (SLC) and Stantonbury Theatre (ST). Both venues are at the centre of the local community and a focal point for families. SLC has a 25 metre swimming pool, full fitness gym, sports hall, astro turf and many other fitness spaces available to hire. There is a full swimming programme and a high level of gym membership. Stantonbury Leisure Centre is an enterprise under Tove Trading Ltd (TTL) which is a wholly owned trading subsidiary of Tove Learning Trust created to look after the Trusts’ commercial interests. Tove Learning Trust is a rapidly growing multi academy trust with 13 schools. The Trust schools have a shared vision and purpose: to deliver outstanding educational experiences that lead to inspiring outcomes. Each academy has a strong individual identity and tailors their educational provision to serve their local community. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our team. Key Responsibilities will include: Working as part of the Hub Leadership Team supporting the growth and maximising the opportunity to increase sales, steamline operations and develop opportunities for the Theatre and Leisure Centre to work together Oversee the operational management of SLC ensuring it is alwasy staffed appropriately, clean, safe and compliant for all users. Maintain a high standard of customer service. Management of the Health and Safety provison across the Hub alongside the Theatre Technical team, the Leisure Centre Manager and the Landlord (SS). Lead the team of SLC Duty Managers and other operational duty staff including oversight of their recruitment, training, rota's and supervision including casual staff, lifeguards, and fitness team. This position will suit someone who is looking for the chance to progress their career and take on a challenging but rewarding role, where you can make a difference to the ethos and atmosphere of the Stantonbury Hub. As part of the senior management team, along with the Leisure Centre Manager, Theatre team and central administration team, you will be part of a dynamic team in leading Stantonbury Hub. You will need: Minimum of two years’ experience in management running the operational side of a Leisure Centre or similar public facing organisation. Experience of working within a dynamic, quality lead, customer facing organisation. The ability to motivate self and others to deliver financial targets and KPI’s. Knowledge of sales processes and campaign development and implementation. IOSH and preferably NEBOSH health and safety certification. Pool Plant room operator certification. Knowledge of pool water treatment and plant operation. NPLQ up to date qualification. NPLQ Trainer/Assessor would be desirable. Working knowledge of health and safety, safeguarding children and child protection. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a broad range of people both in writing and verbally. Able to accept responsibility and show leadership. Set and manage sales targets. Good understanding of personnel management, facility management, financial management and relevant regulations. Complete an enhanced DBS check prior to starting in this role.
