We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Project Manager to oversee project execution, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and field operations while leading project teams to successful project completion. Position Summary The Lead Project Manager is responsible for managing all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires strong leadership, estimating experience, financial oversight, and the ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents. This position requires substantial experience managing wet and dry utility construction projects. Candidates must have a proven background in underground utility installation, including water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, electrical, and telecommunications infrastructure. Applicants without direct wet and dry utility project management experience will not be considered. The successful candidate will manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement activities, quality control, safety compliance, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed safely, profitably, and on schedule. Required Qualifications - Minimum 5+ years of construction project management experience - Minimum 3+ years of estimating experience preferred - Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents - Required: Proven experience managing wet and dry utility projects, including underground water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, electrical, and telecommunications infrastructure - Strong understanding of utility installation means and methods, utility coordination, utility conflict resolution, utility testing, and inspection requirements - Experience with civil construction, site development, and concrete projects - Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control - Experience managing multiple projects and crews simultaneously - Knowledge of subcontract administration and procurement processes - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Experience with Bluebeam, HCSS, WinEx Grade, B2W, or similar estimating software preferred - Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Primary ResponsibilitiesProject Management - Lead projects from preconstruction through final completion - Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources - Monitor project profitability and forecast costs - Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, inspectors, subcontractors, utility providers, and field personnel - Manage and coordinate wet and dry utility installation activities, relocations, inspections, testing, and commissioning requirements - Conduct project meetings and provide progress reports to leadership - Schedule and coordinate multiple crews across various projects - Ensure all project milestones and contractual obligations are achieved Estimating & Preconstruction - Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements - Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates - Analyze labor, equipment, material, utility, and subcontractor costs - Prepare bid packages and proposal documents - Review supplier and subcontractor quotations - Develop budgets and bid summaries - Identify value-engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives - Perform risk assessments and contingency analysis - Evaluate utility conflicts, constructability concerns, and phasing requirements during preconstruction Contract Administration - Manage submittals and shop drawing review processes - Prepare, submit, and track RFIs - Process change orders, PCOs, and T&M work orders - Manage subcontract agreements and vendor contracts - Prepare payment applications and project billing documentation - Track project documentation and maintain organized project files Procurement & Vendor Management - Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules - Maintain procurement logs and material status reports - Develop relationships with vendors and subcontractors - Evaluate proposals and negotiate pricing when appropriate - Coordinate procurement of utility materials and specialty infrastructure components Field Operations & Quality Control - Conduct site visits and project inspections - Support superintendents and field personnel - Oversee utility installation quality, testing, inspections, and acceptance requirements - Oversee punch list completion and QA/QC efforts - Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and company standards - Verify quantities and project progress documentation - Assist with project closeout activities Safety Management - Promote and enforce company safety policies - Review project safety documentation - Conduct periodic site safety inspections and audits - Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements - Promote safe work practices among project teams and subcontractors Team Leadership - Mentor assistant project managers and project support staff - Assist with workforce planning and project staffing -
