ZIEHL-ABEGG is looking for a high energy and results-oriented Lead Machine Maintenance Technician who can be a strong contributor to our heavily expanding company. The Lead Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and directing a team of machine maintenance technicians, performing complex repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery, troubleshooting advanced equipment issues, ensuring optimal uptime, and leading the team in adhering to safety protocols and quality standards within a manufacturing facility; often requiring in-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Lead Machine Maintenance Technician 3rd shift

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Assign and delegate maintenance tasks to technicians, provide technical guidance, train new staff, and monitor performance to ensure efficiency.
• Develop and execute comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all production machinery, including inspections, lubrication, and component replacements.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment, including hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and automated controls.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns during production runs, quickly assess the problem, and implement necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and parts used, and generate reports on equipment performance and maintenance trends.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with quality standards and safety regulations, including proper lockout/tagout procedures.
• Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance costs by managing spare parts inventory, sourcing vendors, and proposing cost-effective repair solutions.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify potential areas for improvement and implement modifications to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Work closely with production teams, engineering staff, and other departments to identify and address equipment issues that may impact production.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience with basic hand tools and troubleshooting equipment
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems
• Ability to read & interpret maintenance manuals and schematics
• Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting & programming preferred
• Ability to communicate with equipment suppliers to aid in troubleshooting.
• Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Organized & resourceful
• Basic computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office applications
