We are seeking an experienced law school admissions professional to help us develop and deliver our law school admissions advising services. This is an opportunity to help shape a new admissions offering while personally advising clients. The role will involve both program development and high-level, individualized admissions consulting . About the Role The Law School Admissions Advisor will have two primary responsibilities: 1. Help develop our admissions advising services You will work directly with JD Advising leadership to develop the structure, services, and client experience for our admissions offering. This may include: Developing the admissions consulting process and client experience Establishing best practices for admissions strategy Helping develop service packages and pricing Creating frameworks for law school selection and application strategy Advising on personal statements, supplemental essays, resumes, and addenda Developing guidance around scholarships and scholarship negotiation Advising on waitlists, application timing, and admissions outcomes Helping integrate admissions services with JD Advising's existing LSAT and legal education offerings 2. Personally advise clients You will work directly with applicants to provide individualized, high-level admissions guidance, including: Evaluating an applicant's overall admissions profile Developing a strategic law school list Assessing admissions competitiveness Developing application strategy Reviewing and providing substantive feedback on personal statements and supplemental essays Advising on resumes and application presentation Advising on addenda and other application materials Providing scholarship and waitlist guidance Helping applicants effectively differentiate themselves in the admissions process This is intended to be strategic admissions consulting , not simply proofreading or editing. We are looking for someone with substantial firsthand experience working in law school admissions . Highly Preferred Experience working in admissions at a T-14 law school Former Dean, Director, Associate Director, or other senior-level admissions professional Experience participating in JD admissions committee or application decision-making Extensive experience personally reviewing JD applications 5–10+ years of law school admissions experience T-14 experience is highly preferred , particularly experience at a nationally recognized law school where you were directly involved in evaluating applicants and making or influencing admissions decisions. We Are Also Looking For Deep knowledge of the JD admissions process Extensive experience with personal statements, supplemental essays, addenda, resumes, school selection, scholarships, and waitlists Exceptional writing and editing skills Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills Ability to provide thoughtful, candid, and practical advice to applicants Warm, professional, and student-focused personality Strong judgment and discretion Ability to work independently and collaborate with a small, entrepreneurial team Importantly, we are looking for admissions expertise—not simply someone who attended a highly ranked law school. Candidates should have meaningful experience evaluating JD applicants from the admissions side of the process. About JD Advising JD Advising is an established legal education company serving law students and bar exam candidates nationwide. The Law School Admissions Advisor will have an opportunity to help shape this new service area and play an important role in developing how JD Advising supports students throughout their path to becoming lawyers. Compensation Program development: Approximately $2,500–$4,000 for initial program-development work Client advising: $225–$350 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Engagement This is a part-time, contract consulting opportunity . The role is designed to provide flexibility and does not require exclusivity. The initial workload will depend on client demand and the advisor's availability, with the potential for the relationship to expand as our admissions services grow.
