Laundry Plant & Operations Manager
We are seeking a reliable, bilingual, hands-on Laundry Plant & Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our commercial laundry facility. This individual will be responsible for keeping production organized and efficient, ensuring all customer orders are processed accurately and on time, and making sure every delivery leaves the facility as scheduled. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can manage people, equipment, production, and delivery coordination while remaining calm and organized in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Production & Floor Operations Oversee the daily workflow of the laundry facility from incoming soiled goods through washing, drying, finishing, packing, and loading. Organize production efficiently to ensure orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Prioritize work based on delivery schedules, customer needs, and production capacity. Ensure all deliveries are processed, packed, checked, and ready before scheduled departure times. Identify production delays or bottlenecks and quickly make adjustments to keep operations moving. Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and productive work environment. Delivery & Route Coordination Coordinate closely with drivers to ensure all routes leave on time. Make sure drivers are informed of route changes, special customer requests, additions, removals, or other daily instructions before departure. Confirm that the correct products and quantities are loaded onto each vehicle. Address delivery or production issues that could affect customers and communicate them promptly to management. Staff Management Supervise, train, schedule, and hold production employees accountable for performance. Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on daily production requirements. Assign employees to different areas of production based on workload and operational needs. Participate in interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees when necessary. Establish clear expectations for productivity, attendance, quality, and workplace conduct. Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, urgency, and efficiency. Equipment & Maintenance Monitor washers, dryers, finishing equipment, and other plant machinery to ensure they are operating properly. Perform or coordinate routine preventative maintenance. Identify equipment problems early and arrange repairs before they cause significant production downtime. Maintain basic maintenance records and schedules. Ensure equipment is operated safely and according to manufacturer requirements. Coordinate with outside technicians when repairs require specialized service. Quality Control & Inventory Ensure customer orders meet company quality standards before leaving the facility. Monitor for shortages, damaged items, incorrect counts, or processing problems. Help maintain appropriate inventory levels of linens, supplies, chemicals, and other operational materials. Reduce waste, rewash, lost merchandise, overtime, and unnecessary production costs. Qualifications Previous management or supervisory experience in commercial laundry, manufacturing, warehouse, production, distribution, or a similar operation preferred. Strong leadership and employee-management skills. Mechanically inclined and comfortable troubleshooting industrial equipment. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and deadlines simultaneously. Strong understanding of production efficiency and workflow. Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of daily operations. Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with production staff, drivers, management, and vendors. Bilingual- English & Spanish What Success Looks Like The Floor Operations Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring the plant runs smoothly every day: orders are processed correctly, trucks leave on time, employees know their responsibilities, drivers know their routes and changes, equipment stays operational, and problems are handled before they disrupt customers. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes ownership of the operation and is constantly looking for ways to make the facility faster, smarter, safer, and more efficient.
