Job Description

Desertman Transporting & Contracting LLC is looking for an experienced Land Surveyor to join our Roads & Infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in UAE road construction and infrastructure projects, with strong technical knowledge of surveying, setting out, road levels, coordinates, alignment and as-built surveys.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform land surveying and setting-out activities for road construction and infrastructure projects.
• Establish and verify benchmarks, control points and reference levels.
• Carry out setting out for road alignment, centerlines, coordinates, offsets and boundaries.
• Survey and monitor excavation, earthworks, filling, grading and compaction activities.
• Set out and check subgrade, sub-base, road base and asphalt levels.
• Check road gradients, crossfalls, slopes, elevations and alignment.
• Conduct longitudinal and cross-sectional surveys.
• Carry out surveying for kerbstones, footpaths, interlock paving, drainage and underground utilities.
• Calculate cut and fill quantities and earthwork measurements.
• Prepare as-built surveys, drawings, level sheets and survey reports.
• Coordinate with site engineers, construction supervisors and QA/QC engineers.
• Read and interpret road construction drawings, profiles and cross-sections.
• Ensure accuracy of all surveying activities and maintain proper survey records.

Technical Requirements

• Practical experience operating Total Station, Auto Level, Digital Level and GPS/GNSS equipment.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD and surveying data processing software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and coordinate data.
• Knowledge of road setting out, alignment, levels and earthwork calculations.
• Experience in preparing as-built drawings and survey documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant land surveying experience.
• Mandatory UAE experience in road construction and infrastructure projects.
• Strong practical knowledge of road surveying and setting-out procedures.
• Ability to independently manage surveying activities at construction sites.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in Abu Dhabi road construction projects.
• Experience with UAE infrastructure contractors and engineering consultants.
• Knowledge of road construction specifications and consultant inspection requirements.
• Experience in drainage, stormwater, pipeline and underground utility surveying.

Important Requirement

Candidates must have actual UAE road construction or infrastructure surveying experience.

Candidates with only building construction, land plotting or general surveying experience without road construction exposure will not be considered.
