Graduate / Junior Commissioning Engineer, Electrical, Mechanical and I&C (Dublin, Ireland)

Navita Technical is hiring graduate and junior engineers to join our commissioning team on mission-critical data centre and power infrastructure projects. You might be a recent mechanical or electrical engineering graduate, or an instrumentation and controls (I&C) technician with a degree who has served your time in pharma, power generation or similar industries and wants to step up into an engineering role. You will learn from experienced commissioning managers on live projects and be given real responsibility early.

The role is based in Dublin, with travel to project sites in Ireland and elsewhere in the EU.

What you’ll do

  • Support the commissioning of electrical systems, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS and power distribution
  • Support the commissioning of mechanical systems, including chillers, pumps, cooling plant, pipework and air handling
  • Support the testing and commissioning of instrumentation, control systems, SCADA, PLCs, BMS and EPMS, including loop checks, calibration checks and point-to-point verification
  • Prepare, review and execute commissioning scripts, checklists and test procedures
  • Take part in factory and site acceptance tests, functional testing, load bank testing and integrated systems testing
  • Witness and record test results, and keep accurate commissioning documentation
  • Track open items and punch lists, and follow them through to close-out
  • Work with contractors, vendors and the design team to resolve issues on site
  • Follow safety procedures, including permit-to-work, lock-out/tag-out and safe working around live and energised plant
  • Contribute to handover packs, as-built information and reports

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • A degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Control or Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline (or expected to graduate in 2027)
  • Or a completed apprenticeship or time served as an I&C, electrical or mechanical technician, with a relevant degree or qualification and hands-on industry experience
  • A good understanding of electrical, instrumentation or mechanical fundamentals
  • Careful, methodical and organised, with good attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work on site, including travel and some irregular hours during testing
  • Fluent English, a valid driving licence (or willingness to obtain one) and the legal right to work in Ireland

Desirable

  • Experience as an I&C, commissioning, validation or maintenance technician in pharma, power generation, process or manufacturing
  • Internship, placement or project experience in construction, data centres, power or process
  • Familiarity with electrical or mechanical drawings, single-line diagrams, P&IDs or loop diagrams
  • Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, control systems or industrial protocols
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365
  • Safe Pass or similar site safety card
  • A European language such as German

What we offer

  • A competitive package, in line with your experience and qualifications
  • Structured training and mentoring from senior commissioning managers
  • Exposure to flagship digital infrastructure projects across Ireland and Europe
  • A clear route to progress to Commissioning Engineer and Commissioning Manager
  • Specific terms will be discussed with shortlisted candidates
