About the Role We're looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team for a 12 - 14 month maternity leave coverage contract. You'll work closely with our Senior Accountant and CFO and get hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career, including those pursuing a CPA designation. What You'll Do - Perform daily accounting tasks, including data entry, corporate credit card verification and reconciliation and general ledger maintenance - Support accounts receivable, including cash application and collections for Service Department invoices and miscellaneous invoices. - Assist with month-end and year-end close, including preparing some work papers - Prepare basic financial reports and schedules - Prepare Progress Draws and Time and Materials billing for Construction Jobs - Keep financial records organized and audit-ready - Support the team with ad-hoc projects as needed What You Bring - A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or currently completing one) - 0–3 years of accounting experience; co-op or internship experience is welcome - A solid understanding of basic accounting principles - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Clear written and verbal communication - Interest in pursuing a CPA designation is an asset - Experience with Trimble Viewpoint is an asset What We Offer - Salary of $60,000 – $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications - Benefits available to temporary staff, e.g., extended health and dental after three months - 5% matched RRSP after 6 months - Vacation pay and paid sick days in accordance with the BC Employment Standards Act - Statutory holiday pay - CPA exam support, if applicable - Mentorship and exposure to a wide range of accounting functions Contract Details - Start date: November 1, 2026, or negotiable - Term: 12 - 14 months, with a scheduled end date of December 24, 2027 - Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility in scheduling - Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break - Location: 202 – 6901 72nd Street, Tilbury, Delta, BC.
