Janitorial Field Operations Manager

Sound Cleaning Resources (SCR) is looking for an experienced Janitorial Field Operations Manager to help us build and grow our in-house commercial janitorial division. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands commercial janitorial operations from the ground up and knows what it takes to successfully manage crews, supervisors, customers, quality, and day-to-day field operations. We are looking for someone with 10+ years of commercial janitorial industry experience who has worked in a professional, established cleaning organization and is ready to take a leadership role in building something of their own. This is not an office-only management position and it is not primarily a cold-calling sales role . You will spend significant time in the field , working directly with customers and crews, inspecting work, solving problems, developing supervisors, and helping us establish the systems and standards that will allow our janitorial division to scale. What You'll Do: Field Operations & Quality Control Visit and oversee active janitorial accounts throughout the service area. Perform regular quality-control inspections and ensure work meets SCR's standards. Work directly with janitorial crews and supervisors to address quality, performance, and operational issues. Coach and develop supervisors and field personnel. Ensure crews are properly trained, equipped, and following established procedures. Identify problems in the field and take ownership of getting them resolved. Help establish consistent standards for safety, quality, customer service, and job execution. Develop and implement checklists, procedures, and other systems to improve field operations. Customer & Account Management Serve as a primary field contact for janitorial customers. Conduct customer visits, account check-ins, and quality inspections. Build strong relationships with property managers and other customers. Respond to customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved quickly and professionally. Help retain and grow existing janitorial accounts. Represent Sound Cleaning Resources professionally in the field. New Business & Site Walks Receive and follow up on janitorial opportunities generated by our sales and marketing efforts. Conduct site walks for prospective commercial janitorial accounts. Evaluate facilities and develop an understanding of the required scope of work. Assist with estimating and bidding commercial janitorial opportunities when appropriate. Work closely with the SCR office team to develop accurate proposals and launch new accounts. Use your existing industry knowledge and relationships to identify potential opportunities where appropriate. Building the Janitorial Division Help us transition more janitorial work from subcontracted services to an in-house operation. Help establish the structure, processes, and standards for a growing janitorial division. Develop systems that can be replicated as the number of accounts and employees grows. Help build and manage a team of supervisors and janitorial personnel. Provide leadership and accountability as our janitorial operation expands. What We're Looking For: Required Experience 10+ years of experience in the commercial janitorial/cleaning industry. Significant experience managing commercial janitorial operations. Experience supervising crews and/or other supervisors. Strong understanding of recurring commercial janitorial services and field operations. Experience performing quality inspections and addressing performance issues. Strong customer-service and communication skills. A hands-on management style with a willingness to be physically present in the field. Ability to work independently and take ownership of problems through resolution. Ability to communicate effectively with both field employees and customers. Willingness to work an afternoon/evening schedule, including being available while janitorial crews are actively working. Preferred Experience Experience working for an established commercial janitorial company or larger cleaning organization. Experience managing multiple commercial accounts and field teams. Experience managing or developing janitorial supervisors. Commercial janitorial estimating or bidding experience. Experience conducting commercial site walks. Experience developing SOPs, inspection procedures, training programs, or other operational systems. Experience helping a janitorial operation grow or scale. An established network within the commercial cleaning industry. Schedule: Approximately 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM The schedule is designed to allow time for customer visits, site walks, operational responsibilities, and direct oversight of janitorial crews during evening service hours. The Right Person for This Role: The ideal candidate is someone who has spent years in the commercial cleaning industry and understands that successful janitorial operations require more than simply assigning people to a building. You are comfortable being in the field, talking with customers, working alongside supervisors, inspecting work, solving problems, and holding teams accountable. You know how to recognize good work, identify problems before they become customer complaints, and build systems that make good results repeatable. You may have spent years working for a larger commercial cleaning company and are ready for an opportunity where your experience can have a significant impact. Most importantly, you are hands-on, accountable, communicative, and take pride in the quality of the operation you oversee.
