Bhd. Department: Technical Reports to: Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer Employment Type: Full-Time (Renewable Contract) Position Summary The IT Technical Manager leads Datakraf’s technical department and is accountable for the performance of the technical team, the allocation of technical resources, and the quality of technical delivery across projects. The role also oversees technical documentation and supports presales activities, solution development and tender submissions. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Team Management - Lead, supervise and coordinate the technical team. - Assign work according to each team member’s capability, availability and project priorities. - Monitor work progress, performance, discipline and the quality of deliverables. - Provide technical guidance, coaching and support to team members. - Conduct regular reviews of technical issues, workloads and project progress. - Identify skills gaps and propose appropriate training and development. - Coordinate the technical team’s work with project management, business development, sales and other departments. - Escalate staffing, performance and delivery concerns to management promptly. 2. Project Resource Management - Plan and allocate engineers, technicians and other technical resources across company projects. - Maintain resource schedules covering implementation, maintenance, support and other contractual commitments. - Coordinate technical personnel, vendors and subcontractors to meet project requirements. - Monitor workloads and resolve resource conflicts between projects. - Identify resource shortages early and recommend suitable staffing or external support. - Ensure appropriate technical coverage during critical project activities and customer support periods. 3. Technical Project Delivery - Oversee technical implementation and support activities for assigned projects. - Review project scope, specifications, deliverables, timelines and contractual technical requirements. - Ensure technical work follows approved designs, implementation plans and quality standards. - Monitor technical progress and address issues that may affect project milestones. - Coordinate technical matters with customers, principals, vendors, consultants and subcontractors. - Participate in technical meetings, site visits, testing, commissioning and project handover. - Ensure incidents and technical issues are recorded, assigned, resolved and escalated when necessary. - Support project managers in meeting delivery and customer requirements. 4. Technical Documentation - Set and maintain documentation standards for the technical department. - Ensure the team prepares accurate and complete technical documents, including solution designs, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, method statements, test records, user acceptance documents, standard operating procedures, service reports, incident reports, root cause analyses, asset records and as-built documents. - Review technical documents before submission to management or customers. - Ensure project documents are updated, version-controlled and stored in the appropriate company repository. - Follow up on outstanding documentation from team members, vendors and subcontractors. - Ensure documentation is completed as part of project handover and ongoing support. 5. Presales and Solution Development - Support the Business Development and Sales teams in understanding customer technical requirements. - Join customer discussions, site surveys, technical presentations and solution demonstrations when required. - Develop practical technical solutions that meet customer needs, project scope and budget. - Prepare or review solution designs, technical proposals, specifications, bills of materials and scopes of work. - Obtain and evaluate technical input and quotations from principals, distributors and vendors. - Assess technical feasibility, implementation effort, dependencies and delivery risks before a proposal is submitted. - Provide technical input for project costing, manpower estimates and implementation schedules. 6. Tender Support - Review tender specifications, technical requirements, mandatory criteria and submission instructions. - Coordinate the preparation of technical proposals, compliance statements, solution diagrams, methodologies and implementation plans. - Obtain supporting technical documents from internal teams, principals and solution partners. - Verify the accuracy, completeness and technical compliance of tender responses. - Identify technical deviations, assumptions, clarification points and delivery risks. - Support tender briefings, site visits, clarification meetings and technical presentations. - Maintain reusable technical materials and records of previous tender submissions. 7. Vendor and Technology Coordination - Coordinate technical matters with principals, distributors, vendors and subcontractors. - Evaluate the suitability of proposed products and services for company projects. - Monitor vendor technical performance and follow up on outstanding issues. - Keep the team informed of relevant technologies, product changes and technical training opportunities. - Recommend solutions and partnerships that support the company’s project and business needs. 8. Quality, Compliance and Risk - Ensure technical activities comply with company procedures, customer requirements and contractual obligations. - Support the company’s Quality Management System and Information Security Management System. - Protect confidential company, customer and project information. - Identify technical and delivery risks and propose corrective actions. - Ensure changes to approved designs, scope or configurations follow the appropriate approval process. - Maintain accurate records of project equipment, licences, configurations and technical assets. Authority The IT Technical Manager may: - Assign and coordinate technical personnel for approved work. - Review and approve internal technical documents before submission. - Request progress updates and technical information from team members, vendors and subcontractors. - Recommend technical solutions, resource changes, training and process improvements. - Escalate technical, project and personnel issues directly to management. - Pause unsafe or unauthorised technical work and promptly inform management. - Commercial commitments, purchases, contract changes and changes that affect approved project costs or scope require management approval. Performance Measures - Performance is assessed against: - Delivery of technical project milestones and commitments. - Effective allocation and utilisation of technical resources. - Quality and timeliness of technical documentation. - Accuracy and completeness of technical tender submissions. - Resolution and escalation of technical issues. - Reduction of avoidable delays, repeated incidents and rework. - Technical team performance and development. - Quality of support provided to customers and internal teams. - Accuracy of technical solutions, resource estimates and implementation plans. Competencies - Leadership and management of technical personnel. - Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, servers, cybersecurity and system integration. - Technical planning, troubleshooting and problem-solving. - Management of multiple projects and competing priorities. - Technical writing and document review. - Solution design, presales support and tender preparation. - Project resource planning and cost awareness. - Clear communication with customers, management, team members and vendors. - Sound judgement, accountability and attention to detail. - Effective communication in English and Bahasa Melayu. Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
