As a growing technology company specialising in digital learning and web-based learning platforms, we have an exciting opportunity for a graduate with a degree in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification. The role offers the ability to learn a wide range of IT skills and provides an excellent opportunity for advancement. Reporting directly to the IT Systems Manager, you will help support the growth of the business as it transitions to a fully could-based Windows environment for its employees, whilst also gaining industry knowledge in helping manage our private-cloud LAMP server environment where we host our web-based learning management system (LMS) platforms for clients. These LMS platforms are used by FTSE listed companies as well as large public sector organisations to manage their compliance training requirements. Full training and support will be provided as you grow into the role. The role consists of the following responsibilities: Internal network and Windows server support · Deliver first line IT support to approximately 50 internal users. · Liaise with our IT support partner for second and third-line support issues. · Proactive support for end-user devices – ensuring devices are properly updated and maintained to reduce the chance of issues occurring. · Maintain inventories of IT equipment and purchasing of new equipment in conjunction with the IT Systems Manager. · Update and maintain internal software register and company application portal. · Windows Server management, including monitoring the running of the on-site backup server and ensuring off-site backup is synchronised. · MS365 administration and management. · Assist the IT Systems Manager with: o Maintaining all internal system documentation and updating of procedures o Ensuring all disaster recovery process are up to date o Maintaining cyber security accreditation and GDPR compliance o Rolling-out of new software o Researching and implementation network upgrades including moving the business over to a fully cloud-based Windows environment LAMP private-cloud hosting management · First level response for client’s LMS platform hosting – this includes: o Monitoring server alerts and liaising with server engineers at our hosting partner o Checking server performance and disk usage and adding server resources if required o Resolving issues with SSO connectivity and client VPN tunnels o Updating domain DNS records and SSL certificates · Proactive monitoring of web server resources · New LMS platform deployment support: o Build a new web server o Install the standard LMS application and connect and test with the mail server o Implement SSO and other client integration and connectivity requirements · Assist the IT Systems Manager with: o Maintaining all web server documentation and updating of procedures o Researching and implementing new web server technologies including web server security and continued GDPR compliance Researching and deploying new or updated applications, e.g. internal developer applications, helpdesk support system and any other applications as required. LMS platform application support · Perform LMS platform application upgrades · Enhance the application updates and upgrade process - e.g. writing Bash scripts to automate system processes and utilising other automation tools · Provide support to the PHP developers – e.g. interrogating server logs to identify issues Unlike many other IT graduate roles that can be quite narrow, this role provides the opportunity to learn a huge range of skills and is a fantastic opportunity. We therefore require someone who is diligent, hardworking, quick to learn and adaptable. You would have the opportunity to work in a hybrid way, with half the week spent in our offices in the beautiful grounds of Harewood House, North Leeds towards Harrogate and the other half of the week working remotely from home. You would be working with a team of highly motivated technology professionals who develop, deploy and support our learning management system to a wide range of clients, as well as working in conjunction with server engineers from our data centre partner.
