IT Specialist

Job Summary:

Provide front-line technical assistance for all hardware, software, and network-related issues across the company’s head office and construction sites. The role involves installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of I.T systems, ensuring uninterrupted technology operations for both office and site teams. The position requires rapid response to technical issues, proactive system monitoring, and on-site support visits to projects within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and other I.T equipment for office and site teams.
• Set up and configure biometric attendance systems, CCTV cameras, TV screens, and network switches at office or project sites in coordination with site administration.
• Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network problems through remote support or on-site visits.
• Assist employees with Microsoft Office 365 applications, email setup, shared drives, and collaboration tools.
• Manage the company’s domain, email services, and website, including creating new user accounts, disabling accounts of separated employees, and ensuring security and access control protocols are maintained.
• Support ERP users by troubleshooting login, connectivity, and application-related issues, escalating to the ERP support team where necessary.
• Maintain and update inventory records of all I.T assets, tagging equipment, and tracking movement between sites.
• Coordinate with the HR department for onboarding and offboarding employees, arranging, transferring, or procuring required IT equipment, and ensuring timely follow-up with vendors for delivery and setup.
• Monitor network connectivity at office and sites, liaising with internet service providers for timely resolution of issues.
• Perform system backups, antivirus updates, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols.
• Replace defective hardware components such as RAM, hard drives, power supplies, or network cards.
• Coordinate with vendors for repair, or replacement of I.T equipment and accessories.
• Provide first-level support for audiovisual setups during internal meetings, presentations, or training sessions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance visits to construction sites to ensure all I.T systems are operational.
• Assist the I.T Manager in deployment of new technology systems or upgrades.
• Document technical issues, solutions provided, and maintain user support logs.
• Ensure adherence to company’s data security policies and protect sensitive information.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• 3 or more years of hands-on I.T support experience, preferably in a construction or contracting environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, LAN/WAN, and VPN configuration.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of biometric attendance machines, CCTV systems, printers, scanners, and audiovisual equipment.
