This role is suited to a hands-on recruiting professional with experience hiring engineering and artificial intelligence (AI) talent in a startup environment. The successful candidate will manage full-cycle recruitment, develop effective sourcing strategies, improve recruiting workflows, and work closely with leadership and hiring managers to identify and attract qualified candidates. This position offers an opportunity to establish scalable recruiting processes and contribute to the growth of a technology-driven organization. Key Responsibilities - Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and candidate follow-up. - Recruit for engineering, AI, software development, and other technical positions. - Develop targeted sourcing strategies for active and passive candidates. - Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and define candidate evaluation criteria. - Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs. - Improve recruiting operations through automation, AI-assisted tools, and workflow optimization. - Use applicant tracking systems to manage candidate records and recruitment activities. - Develop structured interview processes and support consistent candidate evaluation. - Coordinate with external recruiting partners when appropriate. - Monitor pipeline progress and communicate recruitment updates to stakeholders. Required Qualifications - 2–6 years of professional recruiting or talent acquisition experience. - Demonstrated experience recruiting engineering, software, or AI professionals. - Experience managing full-cycle recruitment independently. - Previous experience working in an early-stage startup or high-growth technology environment. - Strong candidate sourcing, screening, communication, and closing skills. - Experience using an applicant tracking system such as Ashby or a comparable platform. - Familiarity with recruiting automation, AI tools, APIs, or scripting is preferred. - Ability to manage multiple searches while maintaining a high standard of candidate assessment. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting startup growth from early-stage operations through expansion. - Experience building recruiting processes or talent pipelines from the ground up. - Experience recruiting AI/ML engineers, data engineers, software engineers, or other specialized technical professionals. - Familiarity with AI-assisted development or recruiting tools, including Claude Code. - Experience recruiting for scientific, clinical, biotechnology, or other regulated-industry positions. Work Location and Authorization This is a hybrid position requiring attendance at the San Francisco office a couple of days per week. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored work authorization. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available. Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in San Francisco, CA 94114
