The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and should be able to independently troubleshoot issues, manage IT assets, coordinate with vendors, and ensure employees have the required systems and access to perform their work efficiently. Key Responsibilities1. IT Infrastructure & Support Manage day-to-day IT operations and provide technical support to employees. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, Wi-Fi, printer, and other IT-related issues. Maintain office IT infrastructure including routers, switches, access points, printers, UPS, and other equipment. Monitor system and network performance and coordinate with service providers when required. Maintain proper documentation of IT infrastructure, configurations, and vendors. 2. Laptop & IT Asset Management Manage the complete lifecycle of company laptops, desktops, monitors, peripherals, and other IT assets. Maintain an updated IT asset inventory and asset allocation records. Configure and deploy laptops and systems for new employees. Ensure proper collection, inspection, and secure wiping of devices during employee exits. Coordinate repairs, warranty claims, AMC, and replacement of IT equipment. Implement appropriate controls to prevent loss or misuse of company assets. 3. User & Access Management Create, modify, and deactivate employee accounts and system access. Manage access to email, Google Workspace/Microsoft 365, Slack, HRMS, cloud applications, and other business tools. Ensure access is provided based on role and business requirements. Immediately revoke access for employees leaving the organisation. Conduct periodic access reviews and maintain proper access records. 4. IT Security Implement and maintain basic IT security controls across company systems. Ensure laptops and systems have appropriate antivirus/endpoint protection and security updates. Support password, MFA, device security, and access-control practices. Monitor and report suspicious activities, security incidents, or unauthorised access. Work with external cybersecurity vendors/consultants when required. Conduct periodic security awareness initiatives for employees. 5. Vendor & Service Provider Management Coordinate with internet service providers, hardware vendors, software vendors, and IT support partners. Evaluate quotations and assist with procurement of IT equipment and software. Track IT contracts, AMC, warranties, subscriptions, and renewals. Ensure timely resolution of vendor-related issues. 6. IT Policies & Documentation Develop and maintain IT policies, SOPs, and guidelines. Maintain records for IT assets, software licenses, user access, and IT incidents. Support implementation of company policies related to information security and acceptable use of IT resources. Assist HR and management during employee onboarding and offboarding. 7. Backup & Business Continuity Ensure appropriate backup processes are implemented for critical company data and systems. Periodically verify backup availability and restoration processes. Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Onboarding & Offboarding The IT Administrator will work closely with HR and department heads to ensure: Employee Onboarding Laptop/system allocation Email and application account creation Access provisioning Basic IT orientation Asset acknowledgement Employee Offboarding Disable all user accounts and access Recover laptops and IT assets Transfer/secure company data Revoke application and cloud access Update asset and access records Requirements Bachelor's degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in IT administration, IT support, or system administration. Strong knowledge of Windows/macOS operating systems. Good understanding of networking, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and troubleshooting. Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Experience in laptop/device and IT asset management. Basic understanding of cybersecurity and endpoint security. Good vendor-management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and resolve issues quickly. Preferred Skills Experience with an early-stage/startup environment. Experience managing cloud-based applications and SaaS tools. Knowledge of MDM solutions such as Google Endpoint Management, Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or similar. Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP. Familiarity with IT security frameworks and best practices. Experience implementing IT policies and access-control processes. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) IT issues resolved within defined timelines. System and network uptime. Accurate IT asset inventory. Timely onboarding/offboarding access management. Timely renewal of IT licenses and subscriptions. Reduction in recurring IT issues. Compliance with IT security policies. Employee satisfaction with IT support. What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, organised, security-conscious, and comfortable taking ownership of the company's IT operations. The person should be able to work independently, prioritise multiple requests, and build scalable IT processes as the organisation grows.
