About the role

As an Investment Associate, you will work across the full investment cycle: sourcing M&A and equity investment opportunities, valuation and financial modeling, structuring and financing, due diligence, execution, and post-investment monitoring. This role suits someone with investment banking, securities, private equity or asset management experience who wants to take ownership of cross-border deals. You will work directly with the Chief Strategy Officer and the CEO.

What you will do

Deal sourcing and research

• Source and screen M&A and equity investment opportunities in Qatar, the wider Middle East and other markets
• Research listed and private companies and their industries
• Analyze target companies' business models, growth prospects and competitive landscape
• Track investment opportunities and market trends in Qatar and the Middle East

Valuation and financial analysis

• Analyze financial statements and key financial metrics
• Value companies using DCF, trading comparables and precedent transactions
• Analyze key valuation multiples such as P/E, P/B and EV/EBITDA
• Build financial models and scenario-based return analyses

Structuring, due diligence and execution

• Review investment size, deal terms and transaction structures
• Evaluate acquisition finance and funding structures
• Carry out and support financial, accounting and commercial due diligence
• Review key contract terms and risks in investment documents
• Prepare investment memos and materials for management decisions
• Work with investment banks, financial institutions, accounting firms and law firms

Post-investment monitoring

• Monitor portfolio companies' performance and key indicators after investment

What you bring

Required

• 3 to 7 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, acquisition finance, corporate investment or equity investment
• Experience at an investment bank, securities firm, private equity fund, asset manager or similar investment institution
• Solid understanding and practical use of valuation multiples such as P/E, P/B and EV/EBITDA
• Hands-on experience with valuation and financial modeling, including DCF, trading comparables and precedent transactions
• Good working knowledge of financial statements and key accounting items
• Professional English, including reviewing financial materials, investment documents and contracts written in English
• Ability to work full-time on site in Doha, Qatar

Preferred

• Participation in the review, due diligence, negotiation or execution of actual M&A or equity investment transactions
• Experience in acquisition finance, structured finance or corporate finance
• Investment review and portfolio monitoring experience at a private equity firm or asset manager
• CFA, CPA or other relevant finance or accounting qualification
• Experience investing in listed or private equities
• Experience preparing investment committee materials or investment memos
• Research and analysis experience across multiple industries and companies
• Experience with cross-border investment projects or global stakeholders
• Strong interest in the investment environment and industries of Qatar and the Middle East
• Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance or a related field
