Inventory Control Specialist
Location/Remote: Onsite in Cedar Park, TX (5 days onsite/week) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Compensation: Up to $25/hour W-2, depending on experience Overtime: Eligible for 1.5x pay for hours worked over 40 each week. Schedule: Approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday Work Environment: Primarily in an air-conditioned production/shop environment, with regular time spent pulling materials from an un-air-conditioned warehouse. This role is ideal for someone with strong inventory-management experience who is comfortable working hands-on with materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll support receiving, inventory, kitting, and shipping activities by pulling parts, maintaining inventory accuracy, receiving materials, conducting cycle counts, and resolving discrepancies. Because the operation is evolving, you should be proactive, professional, and comfortable investigating issues independently. You’ll also operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts as needed, use inventory-management systems, and support the movement of components used in advanced generator manufacturing. Candidates with experience in manufacturing, mechanical, automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or other parts-intensive environments are encouraged to apply. Requirements Hands-on inventory-management experience, including inventory accuracy, cycle counts, stock management, parts pulling, kitting, or similar responsibilities. Experience with receiving and material handling in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or production environment. Ability and willingness to operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts, lift and move materials up to approximately 50 pounds, and perform other physical job requirements. Strong professional communication and problem-solving skills, including effective email communication and independent investigation of inventory or material discrepancies. Nice-to-Haves Experience with an ERP, inventory-management, or warehouse-management system; NetSuite is a plus. Shipping experience, including UPS shipments and/or freight, hot-shot, or broker-managed shipments. Mechanical or manufacturing familiarity with engine parts, hardware, nuts, bolts, and related assemblies. Experience with BOM-based kitting, manufacturing material support, production inventory, or other parts-intensive environments.
