As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a detail-oriented, data-driven Inventory Analyst to manage our £4m IT hardware inventory and ensure our stock remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with market trends. Your Position As an Inventory Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising our £4 million IT hardware inventory, ensuring it remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with market trends. You will be part of a tight-knit team of 3-4 key employees, responsible for monitoring the used IT hardware market, analysing supplier product offerings, and supporting purchasing, eCommerce, managed accounts, and trade sales. This role requires a keen analytical mindset, as you will be interpreting sales data, tracking competitor pricing, and identifying opportunities to maximise stock efficiency. Additionally, you will help manage B2B trade customer accounts, leveraging your market knowledge and commercial insight to broker equipment deals. Location & Hours We are located in the beautiful village of Ribchester (PR3 3XL), so candidates must be able to commute to our location. Our standard working hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities Collaborating with purchasing to provide insights on stock levels and requirements. Analysing historical data and market trends to develop and maintain inventory-level planning forecasts. Monitoring competitor pricing for servers and related systems, recommending adjustments to stay competitive. Writing scripts to automate analysis tasks. Supporting trade sales and purchasing teams with data-driven insights and administrative tasks. Engaging with marketing and product management teams to align product promotions and marketing strategies with inventory priorities. Tracking product visibility across search results and online marketplaces. Interpreting sales data, identifying fast-selling products, and reducing stagnant stock. What We’re Looking For Experience - Essential 1-3 years of experience in inventory management, data analysis or supply chain roles. Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics NAV) or inventory management software. Strong Excel skills (data manipulation, pivot tables, formulas) and typing speed of at least 50 WPM. Strong mathematical and data analysis skills with a strong grasp of numbers, trends, comfortable interpreting sales, stock, and pricing data. Commercial awareness – understanding how stock levels, pricing, and demand impact profitability. Excellent communication skills with a personable, professional approach when dealing with suppliers and internal teams. Knowledge of IT hardware or a genuine interest with a strong aspiration to learn – part numbers, components, and specifications Experience - Highly Desirable Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or scripting languages (such as Python, VBA) for automation and reporting. Knowledge of pricing strategies and competitive analysis. Qualifications - Essential GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English (Grades 9-5 / A-C) Qualifications - Highly Desirable A-Levels in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business or similar subject Degree in Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
