JOB PURPOSE To own IVG's UK commercial marketing strategy end to end — major supermarkets and national accounts, wholesalers and symbol groups, and independent retailers and forecourts — leading joint business plans, POS strategy and field-marketing activation with Sales, converting retailer relationships into structured, evidenced commercial growth ahead of the UK B2C marketing restrictions, with separate plans and KPIs maintained for each retail segment. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Responsible for the development and delivery of UK commercial marketing strategy across major multiples and national accounts, wholesalers and symbol groups, and independent retailers and forecourts, with separate plans and KPIs maintained for each segment - Identify and prioritise key accounts across all three segments, then build and own the joint business plan (JBP) framework covering promotional calendar, range commitments, shelf positioning, in-store visibility and joint marketing investment - Lead phased JBP negotiations and range reviews and customer presentations from preparation through to activation - Own compliant POS strategy, planning and deployment across all UK retail channels — shelf-edge, secondary placements and hot zones for major retail, and standardised POS kits for independents and wholesale — with per-retailer and per-channel adaptation - Operate as one half of a single interlinked function with the Retail Sales Manager and equivalent national account and wholesale sales roles: Sales owns the commercial revenue targets, this role owns the marketing activation, POS and field-marketing execution that creates the conditions those targets depend on — neither meets its objective without the other. Work to shared weekly plans and shared store-level data. - Align promotional mechanics (multi-buy, introductory offers, seasonal pushes) to each retailer's commercial cycle and the NPD calendar - Build and maintain a documented feedback loop from field reps, retailer conversations and store-level data into a monthly insight summary, feeding the Competitor Intelligence Framework - Own ecommerce and digital-shelf accuracy for UK retail partners, and verify store execution across participating stores against a comparable baseline - Front-load and manage the pre-enforcement OOH and brand-building investment, prioritising high-impact formats and locations ahead of the UK B2C marketing restrictions, subject in every case to a separate costed OOH business case — no OOH spend is committed by default. The appointed OOH agency is responsible for securing all necessary permits and confirming each site's compliance with siting law, including proximity-to-school restrictions, before any placement goes live; this role and the Head of Marketing review creative, messaging and contractual terms as the first check. - Secure brand sponsorships and high-visibility partnerships tied to the OOH window, each individually approved by the Head of Marketing and CEO - Lead trade-facing pricing communications around the October Vaping Products Duty, including RRP guidance and margin support - Agree a rate-of-sale measurement framework with each segment — major multiples, wholesale and symbol groups, and independents — to evidence the return on joint investment - Own UK trade exhibitions and events - Provide marketing support to the eCommerce & Partnerships function, keeping promotional calendars, brand assets and campaign activity aligned - Work with the International Marketing Manager to mirror the independent retail activation model into priority international markets via distributor relationships - Commission and track brand health measurement at agreed intervals to evidence the impact of brand-building investment - Submit every external item through the three-step approval process — business approval, responsible-marketing and governance review, and independent Legal/Compliance/Regulatory sign-off — before release - Report progress against joint business plans, rate-of-sale, POS compliance, store coverage and brand health measures to the Head of Marketing on the agreed governance cadence, with activity and evidence tracked in IVG Hub ROLE REQUIREMENT: - Graduate or equivalent level, with significant experience spanning both national account or trade marketing and independent retail or field marketing, ideally within FMCG or a regulated category - Proven experience building and negotiating joint business plans across multiple retail channels — major multiples, wholesale and independents - Strong understanding of POS strategy, promotional mechanics, field activation and retail execution - Experience managing or coordinating a field/rep team, with a track record of scaling store coverage - Experience operating in a regulated or compliance-sensitive category is desirable - Confident using data to evidence commercial return across diverse retail formats — rate-of-sale, uplift analysis, ROI tracking - Skilled relationship manager, credible with both senior retail buyers and independent retailers or wholesalers - A great communicator both verbally and written, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and briefing a field team - Highly organised, able to manage multiple retail channels and phased programmes to deadline against separate plans and KPIs per segment - Pro-active, detailed approach to tasks with the ability to use own initiative - Strong team player, comfortable working as one half of an interlinked unit with the Retail Sales Manager and coordinating with International Marketing and Corporate Affairs colleagues - Energy, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude are a must Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year Benefits: - Company events - Employee discount - Free parking Application question(s): - Do you require visa sponsorship now or in the future?
