Davenham is a strongly positioned organisation in a successful MNC experiencing strong double-digit growth and expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a hands-on, individual contributor role with broad reach across the business and group. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will take direct ownership of implementing finance-related internal controls while working closely with, and influencing, stakeholders across Operations, Procurement, Commercial, HR, IT and other functions to strengthen the wider control environment. The successful candidate will attend an initial one to two week Internal Control training opportunity with Legrand Group in France to understand the group control nuances. Travel to other Group entities as part of the role including in the UK & EU, may be required occasionally (1–2 days every other month) Key responsibilities include: · Implementing and maintaining Legrand’s internal control and compliance framework across entities in line with Group Internal Control requirements. · Aligning policies, procedures and controls with Legrand Group Internal Control and Group compliance requirements. · Coordinating and guiding stakeholders per entity towards best practice readiness, supporting control owners to complete their assessments regularly and accurately, on time and with appropriate evidence, and following up on any weaknesses identified with an action plan in place. · Applying a structured, risk-based methodology to assess and understand the current control environment in each entity, so that existing ways of working are respected and new controls strike the right balance between Group requirements and maintaining operational productivity. · Reviewing internal audit findings and driving remediation actions through to completion. · Personally implementing and strengthening finance-related internal controls. · Supporting functional leaders to put in place, embed and improve the required controls within their own areas. · Holding regular progress meetings with internal stakeholders and control owners to coordinate implementation, agree priorities and keep actions on track. · Establishing clear control ownership and accountability across the business. · Monitoring and testing key controls to ensure they are in place and operating effectively. · Coordinating internal control reviews, audits, ICSA and compliance assessments, acting as the day-to-day point of contact for cluster internal control and audit teams. · Tracking control gaps, risks and outstanding actions, and escalating overdue items where needed. · Providing regular reporting to the CFO on compliance, ICSA and internal control progress. · Supporting the local roll-out of Group compliance policies and programmes and providing practical guidance and training to colleagues on control and compliance requirements. · Extending this work to other entities in the cluster, working with local finance and functional teams. · Supporting the development of a strong and sustainable control culture across the group cluster. What we’re looking for: · Unrestricted right to work in Ireland, the EU and the UK is essential, given the travel requirements of the role. · Strong experience in internal controls, internal audit, compliance, risk or governance. · Good understanding of financial processes and financial controls. · Proven, hands-on experience implementing controls and making them stick, not just reviewing or testing them; experience rolling out a Group or standardised control programme is ideal. · Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence colleagues at all levels without direct authority. · A pragmatic, risk-based approach, with the judgement to balance control requirements against operational efficiency and productivity. · Confidence to challenge existing processes constructively. · Ability to work across multiple functions and entities and drive actions through to completion. · Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills. · Willingness to travel, including an initial one-to-two-week training programme in France and visits to other Group entities. · Experience within a multinational, Group-controlled, manufacturing or engineering environment would be an advantage. · Familiarity with control self-assessment processes (such as ICSA) or Group internal control frameworks would be an advantage. · ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA or another relevant professional qualification would be beneficial. This role would suit someone who is hands-on, proactive and comfortable taking ownership, with the credibility and influence to work across the business and help the cluster achieve the internal control and compliance standards expected by Legrand Group.
