Interior Fit-Out Draftsman & Approvals Coordinator

1. Job Purpose

To prepare, coordinate, and submit interior fit-out drawings and related documentation for approval by community management, developers, and relevant government authorities in Dubai, including Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Development Authority (DDA), and Trakhees. The role includes following up on submissions, addressing authority comments, coordinating revisions, and obtaining the necessary approvals and permits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and project requirements.

1. Key Responsibilities

Interior Fit-Out Drawing Preparation

• Prepare detailed interior fit-out drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software for site implementation.
• Prepare existing and proposed layout plans, demolition plans, partition layouts, setting-out drawings, and furniture layouts.
• Prepare reflected ceiling plans (RCP), ceiling details, lighting layouts, flooring layouts, wall elevations, sections, and joinery details.
• Coordinate architectural and interior drawings with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, and other MEP drawings.
• Prepare washroom layouts, kitchen layouts, door schedules, finish schedules, and material-setting-out drawings as required.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings for joinery, wardrobes, cabinets, counters, wall cladding, doors, and other bespoke interior elements.
• Prepare drawings for submission to community management, developers, consultants, and authorities in accordance with their respective requirements.
• Incorporate client, consultant, authority, and site-team comments into drawings.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, submission records, and approved drawing sets.
• Ensure drawings are properly dimensioned, coordinated, and suitable for execution on site.

Site Coordination and Technical Support

• Conduct site visits to verify dimensions and existing site conditions before preparing drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, supervisors, MEP teams, and joinery production teams.
• Clarify technical queries raised by site teams and provide revised details when required.
• Identify discrepancies between approved drawings, actual site conditions, and proposed execution.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on verified site measurements and completed works.
• Support the preparation of material submittals, technical submissions, method statements, and handover documents where required.
• Ensure the latest approved drawings are available to the site team and superseded drawings are clearly identified.

1. Required Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in interior fit-out drafting and authority or community approval coordination.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai interior fit-out approval procedures and documentation requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or other relevant design software is an advantage.
• Good understanding of architectural layouts, ceiling plans, joinery details, finishes, and MEP coordination drawings.
• Experience preparing fit-out submission packages for residential villas, apartments, commercial offices, retail units, or similar projects.
• Good communication, documentation, coordination, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet submission and approval deadlines.
