We are looking for someone who combines strong interior design skills with project management experience, excellent client relations, and the confidence to present ideas, guide clients through decisions, and help move projects forward. Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the design process for residential renovation projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, and full-home interiors. - Develop design concepts, layouts, finish selections, material schedules, and design documentation. - Guide clients through the design and material-selection process. - Confidently present design recommendations, options, and solutions to clients. - Build strong client relationships and maintain clear, professional communication throughout the project. - Manage design timelines, deliverables, approvals, selections, and outstanding client decisions. - Coordinate with project managers, estimators, vendors, trades, and construction teams. - Attend client meetings, site walkthroughs, and project meetings as required. - Review plans, selections, and project details to identify potential issues before they impact construction. - Maintain organized project documentation, specifications, selections, and approvals. - Help ensure the finished project remains aligned with the approved design and client expectations. Qualifications: - 3–5 years of professional interior design and/or design project management experience. - Experience with residential renovation and construction projects. - NYC project management or renovation experience strongly preferred. - Strong understanding of how interior design translates into real-world construction. - Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-management skills. - Strong sales confidence; comfortable presenting ideas, discussing options, guiding decisions, and creating client buy-in. - Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership without requiring constant direction. - Strong follow-through and problem-solving skills. - Experience coordinating vendors, materials, finish selections, and project documentation. Who We're Looking For: This is not a design-only position. We are looking for someone who can combine design, project management, and client-facing confidence. The ideal candidate is creative but practical, highly organized, comfortable taking ownership, and confident working directly with clients. You should be able to understand what a client is looking for, develop and present the right solution, guide them toward decisions, and then coordinate with the construction team to help bring that vision to life.
