# Interior Design Inspector Abu Dhabi **RSP Architects Planners & Engineers** · Abu Dhabi · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role The Interior Design Inspector is responsible for inspecting and monitoring interior design and fit-out works to ensure they are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, materials, mock-ups, and the overall design intent. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in UAE interior fit-out projects, with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of high-quality finishes, joinery, marble and stone, flooring, tiling, ceilings, painting, and decorative works. The role will work closely with the Interior Design, Project Management, Contractor, and QA/QC teams to identify issues, maintain quality standards, coordinate inspections, and support snagging, de-snagging, and final handover. Roles & Responsibilities The main duties of the Senior Interior Designer – Site Based include, but are not limited to the following: Conduct regular site inspections of interior design and fit-out works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, material submittals, samples, mock-ups, and design intent. Inspect the quality and workmanship of joinery, marble and stone, tiling, flooring, ceilings, wall finishes, painting, doors, ironmongery, decorative finishes, and other interior works. Ensure works are properly completed and prepared prior to inspection, with all required approvals, shop drawings, material approvals, and method statements in place. Review and attend Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) related to interior works and provide inspection comments as required. Identify deviations, defects, and design discrepancies and coordinate with the Contractor, QA/QC team, Project Coordinator, and Senior Interior Designer for timely resolution. Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Notices (SONs), and design-related observations where required. Review relevant shop drawings, coordination drawings, material samples, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with approved Interior Design requirements. Attend mock-up/prototype inspections, factory visits, and third-party testing as directed by the Project Coordinator or Senior Interior Designer. Verify that installed materials, finishes, colours, detailing, alignment, joints, levels, and overall workmanship meet the approved samples, prototypes, and project quality standards. Prepare and manage snagging and de-snagging for interior works and carry out pre-handover and final inspections. Review relevant as-built drawings and site conditions to ensure that completed works and approved changes are accurately reflected. Assist with project handover and close-out, ensuring outstanding interior design and quality issues are resolved. Maintain accurate records of site inspections, IRs, material inspections, NCRs, SONs, snagging reports, and related project documentation. Check material deliveries on site when required, ensuring compliance with approved materials and samples. Support the HSE team in maintaining proper site standards and protection of completed interior finishes. Assist with AutoCAD drawings, site mark-ups, sketches, and other design documentation as directed. Complete daily inspection/work schedules and contribute to Lessons Learned throughout the project. Conduct snagging & damaging at the close out stage of the project and prepare the punch list. Conduct Material of Site inspections Experience & Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5–8 years of relevant experience in interior design inspection, interior fit-out, architectural finishing, or site supervision, preferably with experience on high-end UAE projects. Proven experience working on hospitality, luxury residential, commercial, retail, F&B, or high-end fit-out projects within the UAE or GCC. Strong practical knowledge of interior finishes and construction, including joinery, bespoke cabinetry, marble and stone, tiling, flooring, ceilings, wall cladding, painting, decorative finishes, doors, ironmongery, glass, and feature elements. Strong ability to interpret and review Interior Design drawings, architectural drawings, shop drawings, details, specifications, material submittals, and approved samples. Experience in inspecting works against approved mock-ups, prototypes, material samples, and design intent, with a strong eye for detail and quality. Hands-on experience with Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), NCRs, Site Observation Notices (SONs), snagging, de-snagging, and project handover. Experience coordinating with Contractors, subcontractors, consultants, QA/QC teams, suppliers, and Interior Designers to resolve site and design-related issues. Good understanding of UAE construction practices, authority requirements, project specifications, and consultant/contractor quality procedures. Experience attending factory inspections, mock-up reviews, material inspections, and testing for specialist interior finishes and joinery is an advantage. Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to read and understand technical drawings and details. Familiarity with Revit, BIM, or other design/documentation software is an advantage.
